Henjoukoin
"Easy check in. Although the monk do not speak much English, they made great effort to host us. Communicated with English instructions and translator device. Food was amazing. Location is good. Also included a little introduction of the temple after the morning praying."
Fukuchi-IN
"Good stay, the staff was nice. I appreciated the onsen both carbonated and open air hot tub. The cerimony in the morning was a bit too much Giorgiolona"
Koyasan Syukubou Fudouin
"What an amazing experience! I was very honored to have the opportunity to stay at Koyasan. The fact that I went through so much trouble to get to Koyasan's guesthouse must mean I was on a quest for enlightenment 😅 The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast and dinner were delicious. The architectural details of Fudoin Temple are exquisite, and the morning ceremony was breathtaking. The prerequisite for checking in is being fully aware that this is not typical hotel service, and you can't expect the staff to be overly attentive. This was also mentioned in the morning ceremony: Don't think in the way that you have money and you pay for it, think about the people that make it happen."
Sojiin
"The staff at the accommodation were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The English-speaking staff guided us around the facilities and thoroughly explained the rules. Despite the curfew at 9 PM, we were allowed to return later using an alternate door. Dinner was superb and delicious, with a variety of vegan dishes offered. It's a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate."
Ichijoin
"This is a luxurious temple lodging that we used for a company memorial service. The rooms are spacious and clean, on par with a first-class hotel. We were able to relax and unwind. The baths are also spacious and new. The food is vegetarian, featuring Hamadaya's exquisite sesame tofu. The staff were all very kind and considerate. And above all, the main hall that we saw during the morning service was magnificent. I think it was worth it just to see it."
Koyasan Shukubo Jokiin
"Just amazing. Smack opposite main temple. Walkable to everywhere and the food served by the monks was terrific. Great guided tour on first night by training monk Sake was so informative. If you’re there for two nights then do tour on 2nd night as you’ll better understand things and have more insight."
Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin
"It is a modernized monastery with wifi, coffee machine, pretty and comfortable only downside for us Westerners the shared toilets The futon is quite comfortable The vegan food nicely presented and quite tasty Nice village To daire"
Koyasan Rengejoin
"English friendly. Mostly foreigners stay. The rooms with bathroom and toilet are impeccable. The hotel recommends Japanese massage which is very special. The breakfast and dinner portions are suitable for average girls. Morning and evening meditation. No English/Japanese foundation, just feel the environment. A little walk from the main street for 15 minutes. The hotel has a paid luggage storage service, which is convenient for those who need to walk to the next stop."
Koyasan Syukubo Ekoin
"This temple stay is amazing. Vegetarian breakfast and dinner was great. The morning prayer and fire ritual was great to take part in. They also offered an afternoon mediation tutorial. There was a night tour for the cemetery, however I did not take part. It was a little concerning that the English tour was ¥1000 yen more than the Japanese tour. Overall I highly recommend this place."

Shojoshinin
"Staying at the Shojoshinin temple was one of my most memorable experiences in Japan! The cosy and comfortable rooms, simple yet tasty food, beautiful temple, Goma and Morning prayers with the resident monks amid the calm and quiet surroundings made the stay all the more spiritual. Located very close to the famous Okuno-in mausoleum, this elegant temple stay is the most reasonably priced yet authentic option while one’s in Koyasan. Highly recommended!"
Daienin
"Great experience at this temple stay for one night. Comfortable, clean and near bus stop. About the meal, try the breakfast for experience, I would go somewhere else for dinner. There is a restaurant in a small lane 200 meters"
Komyoin
"A wonderful shukubo, a true pilgrim's retreat. Traditional Japanese style, comfortable accommodations, and friendly, welcoming staff. Excellent sento. Delicious vegetarian kaiseki. The courtyard boasts a stylish garden and a koi pond. Guests are invited to traditional Buddhist rituals in the mornings. Highly recommended!"
Koyasan Gokuraku Stay
Saimonin
"This place is great. Meals are good. But during cold season you better take something warm. The only thing that keeps you from freezing is air conditioning but in big rooms such I had it's not enough."
Koyasan Syukubo Zofukuin
"The location is quite good. The bus stop is just outside the door. The main attractions are very close."
Koyasan Syukubo Kumagaiji
Kongo Sanmaiin
"Overnight stay, dinner, and breakfast, both vegetarian. Excellent atmosphere, very evocative, with prayers at 6:30 am in the temple. A positive experience, we loved it. Extremely kind people."
