Family-friendly Hotels in Kusini

We zijn zondagavond 24 september vanuit een verschrikkelijke accommodatie waar we net waren aangekomen op zoek gegaan naar een ander verblijf. Na even zoeken vond mijn vrouw Albatros Ocean View. Wij appten met de manager en hij regelde dat de volgende ochtend om 9 uur een taxi klaar zou staan en onze kamer beschikbaar was. Om 10 uur in de ochtend arriveerden wij bij Albatros Ocean View en werden wij verwelkomd door de manager en konden wij nog genieten van een goed ontbijt met zicht op de oceaan. Het personeel van “Albatros” heeft ons een super mooie week aan zee bezorgd. Een speciaal dankjewel aan manager mr. Frank en vooral de bediening door Mozes en Peter zullen wij niet vergeten. Zoveel oprechte gastvrijheid en niets was de heren teveel. Of het nu door Peter en Mozes door henzelf georganiseerde etentjes op het strand waren of een speciaal menu betrof, alles kon en alles met veel toewijding en plezier. Het hotel was klein (18 kamers) en had een mooi zwembad en lag direct aan zee. De kamer was schoon, groot en netjes en voorzien van airco. Het eten was gewoon goed en lekker. Een enorme keuze aan betaalbare cocktails maakten het verblijf compleet. Je merkte aan het personeel dat het management betrokken en goed voor hun was. Ze gingen als een familie met elkaar om en zorgden ervoor dat het de gasten aan niets ontbrak. Helaas hebben wij na terugkomst vernomen dat het hotel door een andere investeerder is overgenomen en dat het personeel op zoek moet naar een nieuwe baan. We stayed at the Reef & Beach Resort for four nights, and our experience was excellent. Check-in was quick, and the manager, Funel, kindly upgraded us to an ocean-view room, which was a fantastic start to our stay. Location The hotel is a bit away from town, so having a vehicle is useful. However, taxis are readily available just outside the hotel, making it easy to get around. As for the beachfront, low tide lasts until around 3:30 pm, but after that, you can swim by the Getty Bar, where the water is clear and amazing. Food We were on an all-inclusive package, so we had access to fruit juice, drinks from the bar, and a wide variety of local dishes at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant felt a bit small for the hotel’s size, but it still provided a good dining experience. Indian restaurant needed more spices. Facilities The hotel has two beautiful swimming pools, one of which is by the sea with plenty of sunbeds, making it a lovely spot to relax. Room Our room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with a mosquito net, a cozy bed, and a safe. However, the shower water was a bit salty, which could be improved. Entertainment The entertainment and music at the bar were excellent, especially the fashion show put on by the hotel staff. It added a fun touch to our evenings. Staff A special thank you to Funel and Said, the guest relations officer, for their exceptional service, as well as to the warm and friendly restaurant team. The staff member at the Indian restaurant bar (forgot to take his name) made a mango lassy for the first time they always go over and above to make your holiday a memorable. Their kindness truly made a difference in our stay. Overall A few minor drawbacks we encountered a few power outages during our stay, and the network connectivity wasn’t the best, and the water on the shower is salty The standout quality of this hotel is its staff, who provide outstanding service and make the experience memorable.

Staying at Hakuna Majiwe felt like finding a hidden slice of paradise, a real good value for money. It was made even more special by the incredible team that runs the place. I came here with my parents and my sister this summer, end of July approx. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine care that it felt like coming home. The staff here aren’t just doing their jobs—they’re truly passionate about making your stay unforgettable. Every interaction, from the friendly greetings in the morning to the thoughtful touches throughout the day, showed how much they genuinely care about their guests' experience. They cared a lot, helping with the suitcases, bringing the food to the room (room service), showing a service and type of staff seen nowhere but as in Hakuna Majiwe. What really stood out to me, though, was the food. Breakfast had a variety in worldwide and local food, which is thanked to try the flavors from Zanzibar. Every meal was a treat, bursting with fresh, local flavors, they tasted amazing, hats off to the chef, who even asked us if everything was good! The chefs clearly put their heart into every meal, and it shows. If we had to mention a downside, we would say that, as we kind of came in a time in which there were no guests, we missed a bit more of activity, animation at the hotel… Though, some new guests came the last 2 days we had there. Hakuna Majiwe isn’t just a hotel; it’s a place where you feel truly looked after, where every detail is taken care of so you can fully relax and enjoy your surroundings. The amazing staff, food and decoration made my stay here something I’ll always remember fondly! Thanks!!

Big thank you to the hotel team, Omar and co! The personal is very helpful, always smiling and kind. The garden suites doesn’t get air condition it is so important in the bed room, it was a nightmare for sleeping. No fridge also, water very hot each day. The beach has got a lot of algae but it was very quiet. We had only breakfast at hotel, thinking that we could eat near the hotel but nothing around, and the hotel did not propose a good price to have the half pension. It is better to take half pension before arriving there. Also please note that you will pay 5 usd per person and per night for tax on check-out, like a 5 stars hotel!!! Whereas Indigo beach is only a 3 stars hotel, it should be only 4 usd. The responsable of the hotel was not understandable.

This really is a wonderful place everything you need to relax. Small place, just 12 rooms, perfectly formed! Superb outlook, great bungalow accommodation, fabulous team of well trained locals led by one of the coolest and most efficient guys I have come across. Roger the Rasta is on it and you wouldn't even know it. Great choice of food and reasonably priced. Plenty of varieties of drinks and if you want something specific for your stay Roger and his team will oblige. Nothing seems too much. My daughters had a number of spa treatments as did some of the other guests who were there and all came back glowing. There were some low key, very entertaining events put on that got all guests hooked. Would definitely like to return soon!

Hotel and the stay was totally amazing, the main pool is absolutely amazing and temperature was 10/10, the option to book the a la carte menu was great and the attention to detail when you go to the a la carte restaurant is great, also the housekeeping staff work so hard, they come in morning to tidy and evening to get your bed ready for the evening, we have special members of staff to mention, ADAM, RUNI, PHILIPO, DOMINA, JUSTYNA, EDSON, all 6 members of staff were so attentive and made all of our trip so special and at times very moving, we really enjoying staying here and meeting these people, Thank you, ps the monkeys are amazing 🤩
