It’s a very nice hotel nice location. Food is great at the restaurant. The room is very clean but there was little hot water so we couldn’t fill the bathtub. The service needs to be enhanced, we arrived but no one there to take the luggage so I had to carry them. The cleaning lady came to our room an hour before the check out time and she put her cleaning stuff in our terrace. Jembe the pool boy was very friendly he showed us around the hotel and took some good photos for me and my wife.

The one positive thing is the property is nice. The service was lacking and value was definitely not worth it. We booked the house in the trees. The rooftop balcony was private for our room but people would wander up there continuously. There was a festival at the hotel when we stayed. We thought that was neat but in the night people woke us up going to the rooftop balcony again. We were also charged different prices at the same bar when we would order the same drinks. When we checked out the reception also charged me more than what was due. When I questioned it she said she thought the taxi was $45 not $35 that we had arranged. Although, even if it was $45 there was still a $5 discrepancy. That felt sketchy to me to have the fluctuating prices. A security guard from the festival also tried to charge us « interest » for going from our room to the bar too many times. The outdoor bathroom although we thought was beautiful had monkies visit (no fault of the hotel) but left monkey poop everywhere making showering etc less than desirable. There were also kids running all over the place saying their mom was the manager and how they get everything for free. I found that tacky and distasteful when you have guests paying a lot to be there. All in all I would not recommend or return.

I would really like to give a positive review here because almost all of the people who work there were super nice and the receptionist asked me when I said goodbye to please give a good review..... But unfortunately that is not possible. We stayed there for 6 nights and booked relatively spontaneously. So we knew that part of the hotel had burned down a few months ago. However, the website is still the old one and many booking portals still have the old photos - which is not okay. At first glance, the complex is very beautiful, spacious and there are only 12 villas in total, so it really seems very relaxing and the pool area is also very nice. - The price of the accommodation is the same as before the fire, which is also not okay because the facility is simply not what it used to be. There is a lack of organization and staff who bear responsibility. Our villa was cleaned every day and towels changed every day. This worked very well for the first maid, but unfortunately not anymore from the third day onwards. The staff had changed. The new employee actually looked a bit unkempt (it was already mentioned in the reviews here, but I can only say that about this one maid) and first forgot the small towels and then the entire towels. We had to ask 3 times before we got the towels. The cleaning wasn't always good either. Our son had a lot of tiny little bugs (really small, not even a millimeter in size) in his bed and after we complained about it, we were told that it was normal and that these bugs were always there in Africa. The bed sheet wasn't changed, no one came. We were given insect spray for it... The next day we had 2 cockroaches in the room. There were 2 loungers with cushions in front of each villa. These pads were sometimes collected during a rainstorm, sometimes not. In any case, they weren't brought back but you had to look for the conditions yourself... The pool area was very nice and, because there were only 12 villas, it wasn't actually noisy. Unfortunately, no attention was paid to whether the people who were there were also hotel guests and so it happened that a group of young people celebrated loudly there for a whole day, brought their own music and ordered and drank a lot of alcohol. On other days there were people there who didn't belong to the hotel and who behaved louder than the actual guests. The hotel is located directly on the beach and there are loungers there too. Unfortunately, no care was taken to ensure that the loungers were available to hotel guests. The chairs that were also there on the beach were partly broken. There were not enough shaded areas. Now we come to the restaurant. The ambience is nice. On some evenings there was a DJ on site

A disaster from start to finish... We start (meal as a couple) by making us wait 10 minutes to enter the restaurant for no reason even though the room is almost empty... When taking our order, we are advised against two dishes from the menu that we had chosen. One, local, because it is not good with rice even though it is offered with it, the second because the cooking takes too long!!! So we fall back on pasta and a pizza... The pasta arrives very quickly and I wait 30 minutes for my pizza... of course, I reflect to the restaurant manager who says he's sorry but nothing more, Maybe let's tell our waitress who will no longer give us a look or a word, even for the bill. When we leave, no one will greet us. When two people go to a restaurant, it is not to watch each other eat one after the other, an essential rule of catering, if you don't understand this, change jobs. The owner of this establishment has big problems to worry about if he doesn't make this clear to his staff...

The food is good and then personnel are super sweet, however the place is worn down and looks better in the pictures. If you want a quite night sleep as well, then you would want to bring earplugs as there is a party next door every day - go join though, it’s fun Lastly, there is a monkey at the hotel that is the hotels monkey. It attacked us two days in a row and bit both of us. It also vandalized our stuff and the people next door got the same monkey-experience In general - probably a little low value for money

Supposedly paradise but in fact in the middle of hostel nightclubs with music all night long. Impossible to sleep and the hotel team apparently can't do anything about it. Very long restaurant (40 minutes to get a breakfast dish). Recommendations from rogue guides. In short, the best scam on the island. Very expensive for the worst vacation. And very approximate wifi.

Anyone that comes to Zanzibar needs to come here, a wonderful place. The food is amazing, chill out at the beach and enjoy the view and drinks. This is paradise, what a great place to spend a day or two. Private pool and changing room for guest that come for a day. Habily and his team made our stay unbelievable. Stay at one of tree houses, it is an unique experience.

Fabulous setting , wonderful staff and great food . We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others - walking out from the hotel at low tide was a highlight and we saw puffer fish and box fish and a lion fish as well - but you need reef shoes . Rooms were clean and well laid out and little pool in the centre was attractive and fun . Everyone made us welcome . Just a word of warning and it probably applies in most places in Zanzibar . When we ate or drunk in the Hotel everything was presented to us in Tanzanian Shillings but to pay on card we had to pay in dollars and the exchange rate was very poor . On top of that the bank added 5 % ! So it leaves a bad taste ! Just be warned have lots of cash on you and lots of dollars

This place should have never gotten this monkey. It is such a troublemaker going to other hotels stealing the guest's valuables, jumping, and attacking children. This is absolutely unacceptable, the owners of the nest don't care that the monkey injures kids. I was there when the monkey attacked a young girl at a birthday party and scratched her so deep she was bleeding.
