JAZ Elite Aurora
"Staying at the Jazz Elite Aurora is definitely a five star experience, the service is impeccable, attention to customer needs is greatly valued. Highly recommend for solo, and couple vacation."
Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa - Relais & Chateaux
"The best of the best you can find on this island. Location - amazing (a huge white sand beach, a wonderfully curated garden); accomodation - superb (pristine clean, comfortable, spacious rooms); food - unbelievable (quality of ingredients, the way dishes are prepared and delivered, all is top); personnel - wonderful (Hamida we miss you, but also Janeth and all other waiters, Haji the driver, and every smiling people working there). Madame Valerie is a fantastic manager - she clearly knows how to run such a jewel perfectly well. A final mention for Monica - I hope she will endure at White Sand and be there when we’ll be back next time! This is a nest, a shelter from all is noisy, vulgar and grey - the colors of the sea, the tides, the animals (red monkeys waking us up in the morning!). Go to White Sand if you wish to set yourself apart from the World and forget about everything for a while."
Mandarin Resort Zanzibar
"If you're looking for a cozy and pleasant hotel with attentive staff (including a fantastic entertainment team!), an incredible view, a superb pool, and a top-notch management team, come here! We booked last minute, even in the off-season, and have absolutely no regrets. The weather was amazing, and our stay was incredibly rejuvenating! Thank you to the whole team!"
The Residence Zanzibar
"The rooms are ***et nice and comfortable. The service is very good. The staff is very attentive and friendly. You should be careful about flies and insects."
Reef & Beach Resort - Spa Jambiani
"This resort is constructed round the mangroves to preserve the habitat of the protected colobus monkey. It has a general dining room but also has a separate Indian and Italian restaurants. The spa is excellent value for money. Food is very good and plentiful and the staff can't do enough for you. There is a children's club but overall this is a very quiet resort without late night entertainment. Day trips can be booked to explore Zanzibar if you want more to do."
Blue Moon Resort
"This little pearl outside the crowded world is really a paradise to come to rest. The staff is superfriendly, the food is delicious, the interior is really cool and Ibiza-style and the resort is really big but they do not allow many guests so you really have a lot of space at the pool/beachside. They have a petty with which you can walk above the sea and sunbathe in the middle of the sea. Really cool! We really loved the place!"
Breezes Beach Club and Spa
"Thank you so much Breezes Beach for a truly fantastic and memorable holiday in Zanzibar! We first stayed at Breezes a year ago and decided to return for our second stay. We absolutely love this hotel and for us it feels like coming back home. The setting is pure paradise with incredible views at every angle of Bwejuu Beach; the best beach we have ever seen. The precision to detail that goes into all the themed dinners, excellent food and interior decorations is exceptional and first class. This is something the hotel should be proud of. There is a wonderful calmness in the air at Breezes and unlike anywhere else we have stayed. We immediately felt relaxed on our arrival with a warm welcome from the staff. Breezes sums up Hakuna Matata and is the perfect destination for escapism and relaxation. The staff are the friendliest people and we enjoyed the daily conversations and banter with the staff whilst practising Swahili! A special thank you and mention to Brayson for his wonderful cheery nature and always being so attentive with the biggest smile and infectious positive attitude! We would also like to say thank you to Mtwana, Eva, Dora, Said, Ramam, Nabile, Juliet, Suleman and Juma (Pool Attendant) for being very welcoming and looking after us so kindly during our stay. A big thank you to Lucy and Diana, our room maids from this year and last year who kept our rooms beautifully clean and comfortable. Lastly a special thank you and mention to Lucas who was very attentive in checking with us and to Augustina for making our second stay very memorable and wonderful. A big thank you for providing us the best Indian Ocean views from our Rooms 7 & 8. We very much look forward to returning to Breezes! With very best wishes from Isabella, Peter, Vanessa and Felicity P.S. Attached photos from our wonderful memories at Breezes - enjoy! :)"

The One Resort Zanzibar
"We had the best stay of our lives at The One Resort Zanzibar. As soon as you arrive you are treated like a king/queen with a cocktail and wet towels. Very smiling, warm and welcoming staff! Not only is the room cleaned every day, but every evening the housekeeper comes to install the mosquito net and apply mosquito repellent. The view from the rooms over the pool and the sea is breathtaking. At night, from the roof of the hotel, you can see the Milky Way as you've never seen it before. The pools are very large and never crowded, so you can enjoy a drink at the main pool bar. In the mornings, there are activities such as aqua-gym, badminton... The sea is right next door, and in the mornings it's low tide, so you can see little sea creatures such as starfish and sea urchins! In the afternoon, the water rises completely. Next to the pool there's a small beauty center offering ALL kinds of services (nails, eyelashes, hairdressing, massage, waxing, and other specific requests)! The food is very good, every night I ate for four people haha I couldn't stop, and the chef's dishes are excellent (especially the risotto). During dinner you'll have a different show every night that will make even the shyest of you want to dance, as the atmosphere is very friendly and everyone joins in the fun. We were very sad to leave this little paradise and what made our trip to Zanzibar even better was the entire hotel team, who were wonderful with us from the beginning to the last minute spent in their company. Thank you to the whole team, we will miss you! Abdallah, Charles, Tumaini, Rama, Melao and Killian at the reception until the end of the night, always there to welcome you if you have a need; Casper, Baracka, Abou, Steven, Ali and Francesca at the restaurant, Baracka with whom we chatted for hours at the bar telling each other about our lives haha and Steven with his amazing dishes every night ; Olga and Elizabeth at the Beauty Spa, very smiling, warm and adorable; Yohan, Paulo and Willy, our favorite Maasai with whom we had a lot of fun, super nice and they jump super high too! Abdullah or Doula for the entertainment, at the restaurant in the evening or in the pool in the morning, always full of energy and a great motivator to do a bit of sport haha; Juma our taxi with whom we shared our first impressions as soon as we arrived in Zanzibar; and all the others I've forgotten their names 😭 THE ONE IS NUMBER ONE ☝🏻NAKUPENDA THE ONE Eden, Maurice, Lea ❤️"
Sand Beach Boutique Apartments
"The hotel is unreliable. Even though I made my reservation in advance, the hotel simply canceled my reservation a few days before my trip. I was forced to book another hotel that was much more expensive because Sand Beach did not honor my reservation. I do not recommend going through the stress of having your reservation canceled close to your travel date. I suggest that everyone here try to make their reservations with a reliable hotel chain, as Sand Beach is not reliable."
Art Hotel Zanzibar
"I had a great stay at Art Hotel! It’s right next to the ocean with an amazing view and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spacious, nicely decorated, and the beds were very comfortable. As for the restaurant, it had a wide variety of food, and everything I tried was delicious. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely like to come back!"
Villa Fleur de Lys
"Overall it was a peaceful place with delicious food and a cozy environment! The game room (den) was great for hangout time and the pool was a favorite for the kids. We did experience some water issues during our stay but the staff were super helpful and on top of getting it fixed. The rooms were spacious with a great mattress, AC and bathroom setup. Breakfast was filling with toast, eggs, and fruit plus coffee and tea. Lunches and dinners were big portions and well done. Location was a bit out of town but made for a very quiet and calm atmosphere! I would stay again with a large group of people since we all fit well and had lots of places to hangout or be off by yourself for quiet reading time."
Protels La Plage
Johari Beach Residences, Kizimkazi Zanzibar
"Everything was fine save for the food, not tasty at all!"
Alma Boutique Hotel
"A fantastic stay at Hotel Alma! The absolute highlit was our private yoga teacher, Giulian.Every morning , yoga tailored specifically to us- professional, calm and incredibly soothing. We were thrilled and would come back anytime just for that! kind regards cornelia and Daniel"
Baraza Resort and Spa Zanzibar
"What an amazing resort! Everything was perfect, from the immaculate grounds and pool area to the friendly and helpful staff. Great food and drink as well, plus a spectacular spa. We can't say enough good things about Baraza."
The Nest Boutique Resort
"Had a great time on the ATV tour! It was a fantastic way to get a close-up look at the rainforest, and the trails offered both muddy fun and beautiful views. The guides ensured everyone's safety and were amiable. I highly recommend it for an enjoyable afternoon excursion."
The Palms Zanzibar
"We had a fantastic stay at the Palms. The small number of villas provides for a intimate getaway. The villa's are amazing. The service from all the staff is great, a special mention to Ngasa and Jackson who made us feel at home at the Palms. All the food was very good and the small number of guests made dining feel very special. On two nights they had entertainment which was very nice. The pool is great, a nice temperature and again because of the small number of guests the pool is never crowded. We would defiantly recommend the Palms to anyone visiting Zanzibar."
Hakuna Majiwe Beach Lodge
"We were extremely disappointed with our stay. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the accommodation did not match what was advertised online. During our stay, we had to change rooms three times due to ongoing issues. Basic facilities were simply not up to standard: there was no hot water, the air conditioning was so noisy it was impossible to use at night, and a mosquito net – which was clearly listed as included – was not provided. The bed was of very poor quality and made loud creaking noises, making it difficult to get any proper rest. The sheets were covered in stains. The beach area was poorly maintained and looked nothing like the photos shown online, which we found very misleading. Additionally, there was very limited availability of food and drinks, with many items on the menu not being available. The hotel also lacked any atmosphere, as we appeared to be the only guests staying, which made the experience feel uncomfortable and disappointing. We raised these issues during our stay, but they were not resolved in a satisfactory way. As a result, we decided to leave early after only 3 nights, despite having booked 11 nights. Because of this, we were forced to book another hotel at our own expense in order to salvage our holiday, which resulted in significant additional costs. Do not expect any form of compensation or willingness to resolve issues from the hotel. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience, and we would strongly advise others to avoid staying here."
Promised Land Lodge
"We stayed for 5 nights in Promised Land Lodge. Very relaxed atmosphere, nice seaview from our room, fascinating to see the tide coming in and out. Good swimming at high tide, there are not many waves. Staff is generally friendly. Rooms were basic but clean. The water in the swimming pool was not clear and smelly (too much sunscreen in the water??). We only used the pool once. A pity, because it is a nice large pool, great to have a dip during the day when the tide is low. We found the food average, the breakfast is rather simple (a platter with fruit, a choice of eggs or pancakes, fresh juice, coffee and tea, milk and cornflakes). It is the same every day. For lunch and dinner there is enough choice, quality is OK but not outstanding. Not all options were availalbe all the time. We frequently did not have water in our bathroom sink. It was fixed and broken again multiple times. Be aware: - no Airconditioning in the room, the ceiling fan was providing enough wind so we could sleep well - no drinking water in the room, you have to buy 1.5 liter bottles at the bar - no kettle in the room to make some tea or coffee - electricity shuts off frequently and during the day there is no generator working - order your dinner in advance, during the afternoon to make sure your choice is still availalble - there are 4 (friendly) dogs wandering around the premises, the also come in the restaurant and sleep under and on top of the sunbeds. - music is played at the bar all day (when there is electricity), can be disturbing if you want a quiet holiday - bring watershoes! - there is no sandy beach"
Mayai Ocean Resort
"Mayai Ocean is a fantastic boutique hotel on Zanzibar’s beautiful East coast. All the staff at this hotel from the reception, to the waiters/bar staff, to housekeeping and maintenance were wonderful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom had lots of hot water and good water pressure. Relaxing was easy at Mayai, with lots of areas to choose from; from loungers on the beach, to loungers around the lovely pool, to ones in the shade for when the Zanzibar sun got a bit to much! We used the concierge services to arrange swimming with dolphins, taxi to Stone Town and diving, which was easy and efficient. Thank you Rita! This place was really the perfect place to end our Tanzania experience."
Jambiani White Sands Bungalows
"Everything was very nice! Very clean hotel. Nice people. And a beautifull view. I can’t wish for better. The breakfast was very nice and I had nothing to be negative about. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to Jambiani for a holiday. they help you with all your questions and everything has quality"
Nest Style Beach Hotel Zanzibar
"Wonderful boutique hotel. Beautiful beach, very tasty food and smiling hotel staff. On-site gym (it's a bit old, but it's there) and two swimming pools. Large selection of drinks and a la carte dinner. Open buffet breakfasts and dinners. Rooms cleaned daily. In the evenings, just before dinner, an interesting tradition of getting to know each other with local juices and alcohol."
Michamvi Sunset Bay
"Beautiful resort, lovely staff and tasty food. The pool as very nice, and you can do activities like snorkeling close to the resort."
The Bali Resort Zanzibar
"Beautiful hotel. Cleanliness: Excellent. Service: Excellent. Rooms: Very nice and spacious. To get to the nearby beach, you can easily use the hotel's shuttle. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Bali Resort."
