The place is very nice and relaxed with amazing sunset view. However, the room was full of insects and bugs, there was no hot water in the shower and the telephone was not working. They had to send the maintenance guy several times to fix the hot water which wasn’t convenient at all. The road to the hotel is very bumpy but worth the sunset view. Lunch was good, dinner was below average but the breakfast was yummy. Had to carry my luggage at checkout because the telephone in the room was not working and the reception was were far away. We were supposed to have free kayak or surf board but no staff was there to ask for the kayak. Overall, we didn’t feel that we got the value for money.

The environment of the hotel and the private beach are good, but the room facilities are too old and the design is not reasonable. There is no place for charging at the head of the bed. The villa is very beautiful and peaceful. Stayed there for 12 nights with my boyfriend and we enjoyed the villa so much. All the staff are super friendly and ready to always assist to your satisfaction. The food is very tasty and always freshly made. They are not a five star villa for nothing, They deserve more stars ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is a very safe environment as well.

My mother and I enjoyed a delightful three-day stay at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and cooperative, always ready to assist. When a water pipe broke, they promptly provided an alternative, offering a can of water for showering. The diverse and delicious menu changed daily for dinner, and the breakfast was equally tasty, served by friendly staff. The quiet ambiance and breathtaking view make it a highly recommended retreat. Our garden villa, complete with a personal plunge pool, was spacious, immaculate, and included a daily supply of fresh water bottles. The rooms were consistently clean, and the staff throughout the hotel were welcoming and accommodating.

Thank you to the Konokono Beach Resort & Issaraya Over Water Villa team for a memorable birthday getaway, From the warm welcome at check in to the warm & personal bon voyage at check out was truly heart warming. The staff are so attentive, warm & kind. They made my birthday so special & memorable. The villas are beautiful & spacious. I booked a ocean view villa but was lucky to get a over water villa upgrade at Issaraya. Which was absolutely breath taking. The food is delicious, I had a phenomenal massage at their spa, enjoyed the private white sand beach and will remember the amazing staff who took such great care of me for my birthday. Thank you Rebecca, Beatrice, Jackson, Mary, Frederick & the security team. I will never forget your kindness. I will definitely come back to visit you guys in Zanzibar. The only negative I would add is the road to the resort is in need of repair. Hopefully the government can address that issue. Kwaheri until I visit again. Asante for a memorable birthday trip.

The hotel was not ready to accommodate guests. The room was not ready for check-in, there were two people in our room still cleaning. The doors didn't close properly so massive bugs were climbing into the room. The power went off repeatedly in the night, there were no back up generators, and then the water shut off for the entire resort.
The lighting for the stairs leading to the beach was dark so you couldn't see where you were going, they were literally still installing lights in the dining area while we were eating.
The staff are friendly but lost, a beautiful buffet was set for the guests without spoons for service. The waiters promise to serve the food to you and never arrive.
Kono Kono has a team of well intended staff but very far from being ready to call itself a resort and accommodate any guests.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Beach Pavilion at Konokono during Valentine’s Day and it was an unforgettable experience.
We had dinner at the over the water restaurant at Iysara (the conjoined hotel) on our first night and then an amazing buffet on the beach for Valentine’s Day with yellowfin tuna, a fire and and live music - the setting was divine. Both meals were included in our half board booking and they were easily two of the best meals of our whole stay in Zanzibar.
The staff were attentive and cheerful and the beach itself is genuinely stunning. We highly recommend the beach pavilion as the view of sunset from the room is unparalleled.
Thank you to the team at Konokono for a magical stay. We will definitely be coming back for longer in the future.
