Gionkoh

The hotel is well located in the Gion neighborhood, it is possible to take several walking tours around the region. It is also close to bus and subway stops! We stayed in a room with a private bathroom. The space is well maintained and clean! The house has a history and it was very interesting to stay there.

The three of us stayed in a Japanese-style tatami room. It is located between Yasaka Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple, and has a good atmosphere where you can see the five-storied pagoda. It is an inn that looks like a renovated old Japanese house. For that reason, the appearance and the way the rooms are made look like they have been around for a long time, but the washrooms and baths are new. I was able to get rid of my tiredness comfortably like a bath. The room itself has large windows and is made of wood, so I thought it would be a little cold with just the air conditioner, but it wasn't unbearable. The view from the windows, such as the inner garden with koi fish swimming and the tiled roof, is also charming, and I felt that I had come to the ancient capital of Kyoto that I had imagined in my head. There is no TV in the room, so at first I was skeptical. Basically, I feel like they leave me alone, but when I want to talk to them for a while, they kindly respond, and I think it's a good sense of distance. It was a wonderful inn that conveyed the owner's desire to have a comfortable stay while enjoying the atmosphere of old Kyoto.
