Traveling to Kyoto with friends and staying at this hotel was an excellent experience. The location is superb, making it easy to get to all the major attractions. The rooms were spotless, and the public hot spring was perfect for easing the fatigue from walking around all day. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the facilities were complete and functional. I highly recommend this for anyone traveling with friends.

Good value for money. The room was clean, and I really enjoyed the large public bath downstairs every evening. It's about a kilometer to Takashimaya and the Kamo River. There's also a great coffee shop called Goodman, a 'Hyappyo Coffee' store, right across from the hotel.

The hotel is not bad in tidiness and cleanliness, it is good that it also has a public bath. However, it is not friendly for those tourists who drive, because its parking does not have an elevator for going to lobby, that means you need to carry your heavy luggage to walk upstairs for checking in.

Right off the bus from Kyoto Station, the location is absolutely fantastic! We arrived half an hour early, and the staff very thoughtfully checked us in, letting us know the room was still being cleaned and we'd have to wait a little. They were incredibly friendly. The hotel even provides its own translation device, which is super convenient. For two people, the room is very spacious. I love the dark-toned decor, and the bedding is really comfortable. The waste sorting instructions are also very clear. The room was cleaned spotlessly every day. The pajamas are super comfy – though at my Osaka hotel, it was a long-sleeved shirt dress, which made me wonder about the men, haha! There's a convenience store right next to the hotel and it's really close to a Life supermarket, which was perfect for our daily breakfasts and snacks. My daughter practically drank milk like water every day! After resting up, we'd head out to grab some snacks. Getting to Shijo-Kawaramachi was also a breeze; we just strolled there, or took a bus from the corner, which was very handy. Taking a walk around the hotel is a wonderful experience.

This Mitsui Garden hotel consistently maintains its high standards. The Kyoto Shijo branch has an excellent location; it's just a 5-minute walk from Exit 4 of the Karasuma Subway Line. The staff were very welcoming. When I checked in, there was a Japanese lady at the front desk who spoke Chinese, which was a pleasant surprise as it's the first time I've encountered Chinese-speaking staff at a Mitsui Garden hotel – highly recommended! The hotel's decor has a strong Kyoto vibe, the rooms are spacious, and the soundproofing is good. From my room, I could even see Kyoto Tower. The hotel also has a public bath, open from 3 PM to 9 AM the next day, which is perfect for someone like me who enjoys a morning soak. If I get the chance to visit Kyoto with friends again, I'll definitely consider staying at this Mitsui Garden Shijo location again.

A quiet hotel in the bustling city center. It's a shame the price dropped significantly the day before my stay, and I couldn't rebook. Everything else was great.

I always stay at this hotel when I'm in Kyoto; it's so convenient with a supermarket and bus stop right outside.

Room was dusty. Toilet had some stains but not significant. Location was a plus point.

Mitsui's standards are consistently good. The room was adequately sized and very clean. The large public bath at this Kyoto Shijo location is on the first floor, which also features a small glass viewing area, adding a touch of Kyoto charm. The hotel's service is excellent; they're very accommodating. When I unexpectedly needed to work late, the front desk even had a three-prong adapter for me to borrow.

I stayed in Triple room , which is enough for 3 persons and can open all 3 suitcases. Very convenient and family mart just nearby.

Traveling with a child, I booked a triple room, and the three beds were more than enough. The public bath, while not large, was very comfortable. It's a 15-20 minute walk to Kamo River, or two bus stops. There's a FamilyMart convenience store downstairs.
