This trip is short and there are elderly people with me, so I want to stay in Arashiyama as the main force. Seeing that a major airline has a hotel package in Arashiyama area, I chose this one, and I was also greedy for the "tatami" room. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. Apart from supermarkets and convenience stores nearby, there are really few options for finding restaurants. We walked for more than ten minutes and only found a café for breakfast, because most restaurants do not open until 10:30 or 11:00. What is worthy of praise is the service attitude of the hotel staff. Their English is really not good, but they are still willing to answer my questions and even use a translation program to communicate, so it will be more convenient for guests who understand Japanese to check in.
