There is a 7 Days Inn next to the Shijo Bridge on the Kamo River. There is an alley across from it. Walk about 200 meters inwards and you will find the hotel on your left. The check-in process is very fast and you can pick up toothbrushes and other items at the front desk.

Check-out time is too early, check-out is at 10 o'clock, and it costs 2000 yen to extend the stay after 10 o'clock, which is about 100 RMB. Other hotels charge 1000 yen for late check-out at 11 o'clock. They called every 5 minutes to urge us to check-out late. The experience is terrible. Check-in time is still 4:30 pm
