It was nice that it was close to the subway and there were many convenience stores nearby. The owners were all friendly and I would stay here again if I go to Japan again. It was value for money.

The facilities were clean. It would have been nice if there was a small space next to the bed where I could put small items. Is it by design that it won't open unless you insert the card key twice? I want it to open in one go.

Excellent place to stay in Kyoto. Great location, friendly stuff, very clean, great price.,everything you need there.
The little restaurant to eat, great homemade type food, great prices, I really liked it :) i highly recommend

It has been renovated and the interior is as comfortable as new. However, when I turned on the ventilation fan in the room, there was a slight sewage-like smell coming from the vent above the entrance, but once I turned off the ventilation fan, the smell went away. The walls are thin so you can hear quite a lot of noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms.
Although the area is centrally located, it is a quiet place, but there are plenty of restaurants, so it is convenient. You can feel like you are living in the center of Kyoto.

Takeaway: not nice people who will take your money at every corner. Nice and clean hostel but so expensive! Would not recommend if you're travelling on a budget. Due to my late check-in, for a night I paid the same price as a small double room at a hotel on the same road. I was not comfortable here as I felt anything I would do would be charged to me. There are more prices than nice vibes in this place, here's a taste of what you risk: 30 USD for a dorm bed 3.5 USD per 30mkn of check-in after 9pm 35 USD if you lose the small key of your locker 100 USD if you lose the plastic key card for the door See pic for fees about linen. Etc. And of course they'll demand a 8% surcharge if you want to pay by card.
