There is mold in the toilet and there are spider webs on the roof. It’s so bad that it’s not worth it at all.

We stayed here for two nights and were blown away by the level of hospitality and commi**ent to giving guests an authentic Japanese experience. As soon as we arrived, we were whisked into our room and served tea. We enjoyed sleeping on futon beds and the relaxing traditional room space. The small garden space was beautiful. Our traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and we opted into a traditional Kaiseki-style dinner, which was a foodie highlight of Japan. We enjoyed reading about the ryokan and other aspects of traditional culture in Kyoto during our stay. Special mention to the staff, who went above and beyond to take care of us.

What an amazing ryokan, the best value for money I had on my entire trip. The staff are so polite and they offer an authentic Japanese experience. It was the highlight of our trip, will definitely stay again!

Located a stone's throw from the Gion district, a district of Kyoto famous for the Geishas, it is also very close to public transport. An absolutely wonderful experience to cap off a stellar Japanese tour! Clean, welcoming, always smiling! We also took the formula with typical dinner and breakfast included and, if you love their cuisine, you won't regret it. For breakfast there is also the possibility to choose continental. An experience to absolutely repeat!

Our room was beautiful and the staff was unbelievably friendly. The ryokan is located a very short walk from the main streets of Gion. There even is a tea house in the middle of the garden where tea ceremonies were held. If you are interested in Japanese culture I highly recommend the Yoshi Ima. The Japanese traditional breakfast and evening meals were delicious as well.

Traditional ryokan in the heart of the Gion district of Kyoto. For one night, a change of scenery guaranteed. We were lucky enough to have two large rooms that turn into bedrooms in the evening on the 3rd floor. The bathroom was surprisingly quite large, the futons ultimately comfortable. Breakfast (Western at our request) for the four of us was served in a small living room with a view of the incredible Japanese garden in this area. A very nice experience.

I'm glad it was interesting. However, I thought it would be rather troublesome because I was traveling alone.
