Very good clean hotel with good location

Great stay with a group of friends and kids

Nothing too special, good stay if your in need of a place to stay for the night.

Good service

The quilt covers in the room were dirty and smelled. I had to call the waiter to change them, but I changed them myself. The facilities were very old and the price/performance ratio was too low. I really don't recommend it. The price is not cheap, but it is very close to the subway and bus

It's a retro-style hotel and I was disappointed at first, but it was spacious so it was great for a meal with a group of people. In particular, the public bath and transportation were good (Shijo-Omiya Station, where you can take the Randen train, is a 1-minute walk)

Stayed for three nights. The space is large and comfortable. There is a refrigerator and a microwave. The transportation is also convenient. The housekeeping staff cleans the room every day. I will stay here again next time I have the opportunity.

Tatami hotel, you can take a bath on the first floor, the price is really great value

A very unique hotel in Japan. Nice pajamas. Tatami. The kids are happy. There is also a big bath. It is really convenient. The transportation is not to be mentioned. Shijo Omiya is very convenient to Arashiyama.

Although the room was old, it was fine for a relaxed stay with my family. I was concerned about the hair on the wall and sheets near the toilet, but there were no other issues. The large public bath was crowded, but it was clean and nice. I felt that the staff's service was pleasant, as they allowed me to borrow an umbrella and check in early.

The entire hotel was beautiful with an urban decor. We stayed with our family of four. It's rare to find a hotel that can accommodate four people in one room. The room had chic tatami mats and you had to lay out your futon yourself. Unlike a ryokan, Nakai-san never comes in, so it was great that we could lay out the futon at our own pace. There was a unit bath in the room, but there was also a large public bath where we could stretch our limbs and relax. We went to Arashiyama so it was very convenient.

After seeing many good reviews online, I spent $6,500 HKD and booked a Japanese-style room for three nights. The information stated that it was 26 square meters. In fact, the living space was 16 square meters. Minus three mattresses, there was almost no room to move around. The entrance was OK. When opening a suitcase, the online information was inaccurate and the photos were misleading. There is also no reserved parking space. 

I had a comfortable stay. I was able to relax in the room and bath, which was nice.
