Great location and friendly staff. A very quiet street and the ryokan is also quiet with no guest noise etc. It is comfortable and clean but as I was walking a lot over 2 days the bed was not ideal for me and the location was not as close to the main sights as I had hoped. As a base close to Kyoto Station it is good. There were no breakfast facilities etc.

Great location. The staff were extremely helpful and between my sp**** spoken Japanese and their sp**** spoken English we were able to communicate OK. No food is served here but the ryokan is with 5 minutes of Kyoto Station and its surrounding restaurants and cafes. Its also almost adjacent to Higashi Hongan Ji Temple, a few minutes walk to Nishi Hongan Ji Temple, the Shimabara Gate and Sumiya Ageya. Between 10am and 3pm they clean etc so guest are required to be out of the ryokan between these times. Good value.
