My best choice that I take this guest house during my travel! Mama and Papa were super nice and all the things in this house was totally Japanese (also very clean and comfortable!!). I’ll come here again when I travel in Kyoto next time ♡

A very, very recommended place. It was my first time to stay in this type of B&B, and it was a very strange experience to chat with people from all over the world at night. The room decoration is also very beautiful, and mama is very welcoming.

We have been traveling around the world for 3,5 months now (10 countries and 3 continents) and this was our favorite place we stayed at! We felt so welcomed by "Mama & Papa" that run the guesthouse together. My partner had her birthday during our stay and they even bought her a birthday cake! Papa also made wonderful chai-tea and we both got a painting from him to take back home, mama also served us a great breakfast every morning. Mama also told us about all the cool places to visit in and around Kyoto, that was very helpful. We stayed in the private room with shared bathroom. Everything was nice and clean and the vibe was very cozy. Bus stops are just a short walk from the hostel and the subway is like a 10 min walk from the hostel. If we ever come back to Kyoto this will for sure be the place where we will stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Compass guesthouse. The hosts are very warm, kind, helpful and make you feel very welcome. Nice and cozy house, clean and comfortable. I highly recomend this place and would defenitely stay here again if I ever come back to Kyoto.

Best place ever Real old japanese house with amazing traditional garden Owner are best ever I suggest to go in place i which hosts are local , for who come from far it will be very helpfulla and safe.

Incredible hospitality by mama and papa! The guesthouse is comfortable and has everything. The breakfast is generous. Well connected to the center with bus. They also provide bicycles. Overall, very recommended place to stay in Kyoto! Thank you!
