Disappointing - great location, and a well kept 100 year old hotel, but very expensive for the product offered. Room was small, aircon antiquated, facilities limited, dining closes far too early in the evenings, and the swimming pool was very dirty.

The snacks and refrigerator in the suite are empty, and I call every day to ask for water. No one picks up the busy food delivery service on weekends, or takeaway is fast. The point is that it is completely different from the room in the picture. It is recommended to look at the official website. Anyway, it is uncomfortable to live in. Figure 4 is the photo on Ctrip, Figures 1 to 3, the reality map

The hotel seems to be a conglomeration of buildings with differing ages and qualities. We were first-time visitors and I think we were thus placed in an older building. The room was dingy, had stained and ripped furniture, and substandard lighting. The location in La Jolla is outstanding and the view from our room was great, and it was for these two that we had to keep reminding ourselves we were paying $750+, not the accommodation.

Had an amazing stay at La Valencia! The pool is my favorite part of the hotel. Leo the bartender was awesome! Drinks 10/10! The lounge chairs are very comfortable and the pool area was kept clean. My favorite hotel in the area whenever I am in town.

Mike the bartender at pool was fabulous! GO EAGLES!! Mark at Concierge desk was wonderful. He greeted us a check-in with a glass of champagne and was helpful throughout our stay with suggestions and ideas. Anna at Front Desk was knowledgeable, kind and cheerful.

We expected more, and the room/suite was a great disappoin**ent. Some paint and renovation would change my mind because the staff is great and the food at The Med is wonderful. But not for what they charged.

This hotel has absolutely raised the bar for any other resort my fiancé and I stay in the future. The moment we walked in, Ana from concierge greeted us with champagne, as well as a bandana for our pup! The front desk team as a whole did an outstanding job and also gave us treats at check in for our pup. The quality of our room exceeded our expectations, as well as how clean and beautiful the property is! All staff members were friendly and welcoming throughout our entire stay. Overall, we are counting the days till we are back at the La Valencia. A historic hotel that continues to raise the bar.

We stayed at The Valencia Hotel for 4 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Our vintage room recently renovated was beautiful with an amazing view over the ocean.We had breakfast every morning at restaurant Med and food was delicious and fresh with an excellent service.Staff is friendly and polite. Will definitely returned!
