The pictures were a little off from the room we got, but overall we had a nice stay here. We got in around 4:30am, but check in was quick and easy. We weren't bothered by noise at all as some of the other reviews have stated, although we were on the 4th floor so maybe that made a difference. No heat or cooling that we could find, but with the window open we didn't really need it. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. Food in the restaurant was actually really good. Overall, I'd stay here again as it was perfectly adequate, especially given the great location and reasonable price.

We had booked a family room that seemed very uncomfortable to us so we changed to a suite paying the difference, on day 24 dec when my daughter was shower breaks the glass of the shower caused several cuts in her body the receptionist He helped us very diligently and in time. It was a great fear and we assume that you are things,” may happen” , but the next few days the staff are responsible for ruining the holidays, the hotel gives you an hour for breakfast but after half an hour the things are still not ready. I asked a board for a shirt, they told you there was only a board service in the hotel, they had to board twice because it was businessintable to work. Receptionist places to meet in Peace or nearby only tells you ” the Valley of the Moon ” doesn't give you any other information, it seemed very unprofessional and medium-cream being in a tourist environment that are called to promote your country. We returned to the hotel because we had other days reserved and did not respect the change of suite account that we had made ”misuse” of the shower and did not return them as they delivered us ... I seemed incredible to hear what he told us ....what use can to give a 11-year-old girl ...... disastrous. another person told me that since January I was the only person to complain, minutes later other local people who had made a reservation for four times arrived and followed the hotel without respecting the offer, Then I was told to go to the Ministry of Tourism to make a formal complaint!

While its location is centric, the overall look of it is not the greatest! Outdated basic rooms for a night maybe 2. Breakfast menu is very limited and many of the items do not looked fresh at all! Nearby streets looked quite scary, specially at night, there is sense of not being secure... just my impression as if someone is going to jump out of nowhere... I had a 2 night stay before going to Uyuni and at the end of it, when checking out, the front desk staff was asking in an accusatory tone if I had eaten something from the minibar, which I hadn’t, but they insisted as if I was not telling the truth, the the front desk person went about the amount of towels and the it was “very strange” they left only one when it should have been 3! Once again this was done in a accusatory tone that made me think on offering to open my bags so they could check in wasn’t stealing them! Although I had a reservation for an additional 2 nights, upon returning from Uyuni, I decided to cancel, even losing money from doing it and find a “better” accommodation! I just didn’t feel comfortable being accused like that and no one to rely on for support! Bad experience overall!

It is not the easiest task to choose a hotel on the other side of the world from your cozy surroundings back home. Of course you check Tripadvisor and a few other sites before finally making your decision. But still, you never know. If you by chance are going to La Paz in Bolivia, trust me on this: Stay at Hotel Sagarnaga. You will not be disappointed. Good prices, really nice staff, clean comfortable rooms and perfectly situated in the city. Most staff speak really good English and they understand service. Breakfast is simple but good enough for you to make it until lunch. Also, should you have any desires to climb a mountain, ride a bike, go on a bustour to Lake Titicaca etc you have several agencies of which Jiwaki would be one I would recommend just 10-50 meters from the hotel. And yes, La Paz is situated at 3700 masl and you might, no, you should be very careful upon arrival and give it at least 48 hrs of rest before you attempt any kind of activity. Hence Hotel Sagarnaga: Within 60 seconds distance you have ATM´s, Money exchange, Good restaurants, small stores to buy your water to have in the hotel room while you rest and try to get oxygen into your lungs. In other words, Hotel Sagarnaga offers you a perfect infrastructure to get comfortable and catch your breath.

This is a funky hotel well located amid the main tourist attractions of La Paz, with easy walks to the witches market, the nearest cable car station, the main square, San Francisco Plaza, Jaen Street with its museums, etc. The breakfast was good, with your choice of a hot egg dish plus fresh fruit and various breads. Our only complaint was our room was an interior room, looking out onto the hallway and lacked fresh air. but this was minor, unavoidable given the design, and not all rooms had this problem.

Excellent
GGuest UserFive-star recommended hotel. Newly renovated, the bedding is very comfortable.
I had high reflexes as soon as I landed at the airport. I took oxygen at the airport. The staff who picked me up at the hotel waited for me for a long time. They helped me carry my backpack and buy anti-high reflex medicine from the drug store. On the way back to the hotel, they looked back from time to time to check on my condition. When I arrived at the hotel early, they helped me check in for free and provided me with oxygen for free. When I tried to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM, my bank card was swallowed. When I went to the bank to withdraw cash the next day, the front desk kindly printed a small note explaining the situation in Spanish for me. She was so considerate.
Will come again!
GGuest UserThis is an excellent hotel, just outside the main centre of La Paz. The rooms are of an excellent quality, with a good sized main room and bathroom. The hotel accommodated my early arrival into La Paz and allowed me to check into my room at 8am for a reasonable price. The breakfast were varied in content but always of a very good standard, with a spectacular view of La Paz from the main restaurant on the 8th floor. The laundry service the hotel offers was also useful after 2 weeks of travelling! The only thing that would have been useful is tea/coffee facilities and maybe a fridge in the room, but such services are provided by main reception. I would definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I am in La Paz.
I cannot speak highly enough of the Ritz or its staff. Communications were good in advance as I requested an early check in due to my early flight, and they accommodated this. The arranged for a taxi to collect me from the airport. My room was huge, with massive opening windows (I hate aircon and the feeling of being sealed into a room), there was no aircon in the room but with the windows open I got a lovely breeze. I was at the front, overlooking the road and square, with my windows open, it was very noisy and La Paz is a very full on city, but this did not bother me at all. I would say that if you may want fresh air and you need silence, then maybe request a room not at the front ! An observation is that there was no dish cloths or any linens in the kitchen which I would expect when you have a working kitchen, I did have to give plates a wipe over with a bathroom towel when I washed them. I was able to run a ”tab” of a couple of taxis and also some food and drink from the coffee bar downstairs which I paid in one go as I left, this was helpful too. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough - stay here if you go to La Paz !!
GGuest UserWe had the pleasure of spending three nights at hotel Qantu in La Paz. Hotel staff was nice and we could arrange with them on email to secure pickup from the airport. Arriving at the hotel in the middle of the night we were greeted by a very professional and nice staff member. Room was fairly good size and clean. indeed the whole hotel felt clean and as something the staff cared about. Breakfast was ok and here again friendly staff made good omelets for us suggested by themselves. However the really big difference was Lili in the reception. She was very very helpful and helped organising our whole journey on from La Paz. Even booked busses, sightseeing, taxis and all we needed. No doubt about my next stay in La Paz also will be at Qantu.
GGuest UserThe kind and skilled owners and staff have taken excellent care of me for many visits over the years, and it’s time for me to acknowledge that excellence. During the demonstrations the wracked Bolivia a few years ago, when blockades led to food shortages, other hotels suspended restaurant service, but not Casa Fusion – each morning, they still brewed their delicious coffee, setting out crackers instead of (no longer available) bread, cheese instead of butter, and some jam – but guests were kept fed! And during the bouts of Covid panic that swept Bolivia, they opened up while other hotels were still shuttered, and spent hours (literally) working with me, ensuring that I could have a valid test result to board my return flight home. Now tourists are returning to Bolivia, and Casa Fusion continues to provide their excellent service. The little café is as charming as ever, the yummy in-house bakery draws tourists and Paceños, and this reasonably-priced hotel, perfectly situated in the restaurant-filled Sopocachi neighborhood and half a block from the cable car station, serves grateful guests from around the world.
GGuest UserRooftop Bolivia is a great place to start exploring the city, nice people at the desk and the building is quite impressive from the inside, charming furniture with a touch of modern elements...totally recommendable. They offer a good breakfast and several dishes for lunch and dinner. Come here and find out😉
We did two stays here during our Bolivia trip. The first was an early arrival and overnight (our flight arrived at 6am - so we had early checkin and that same night). We went to Sun Island for a night then came back for our second stay - an afternoon arrival before flying out the next day. The best part about this hotel is the location. It's near two squares/ plazas that were cool to walk to for some good people watching. We didn't have a car and this hotel was booked by our tour operator. A second positive was a friendly staff. When the property owner doesn't maintain the property, that's not the staffs fault. They were doing their best and I am grateful. I also appreciated the US-able plugs so I didn't need an adapter! 8-) I would actively avoid this hotel in the future. Room #1 - Our first room was absurdly hot and facing a main square. Between the people noise and car horns until 2am, you couldn't open the windows AND sleep. They need to put fans in the room. Room #2 - This was a suite, which had a living room with a lot of space. However, it reached with a scent like bug spray. That made us even more worried that something would tag along in our bag. Restaurant - We did ”breakfast” here both days and tried it for dinner. We don't eat eggs, and a hot omelette right and been good. Aside from that, the pastry and other stuff was very underwhelming. We basically didn't eat breakfast. Overall property is VERY rundown. The carpet in the hallways, the marks all over the hallway walls, and the overall decor are horribly in need up an update. Even a fresh coat of paint would help. If you ONLY want to use this hotel to sleep and shower, think of it like a motel. I wouldn't stay here again.
