Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Gran Canaria Mogan

Very beautiful and very nice service

WOW,this hotel deserves more than 5*. We arrived 11th Sept for 16nts and wanted to write this honest review before sadly going home. From the minute we walked into the hotel the staff have been AMAZING they really can't do enough for you & always with a smile 😊. We're B&B & the breakfast is fantastic, it has EVERYTHING (Hubby said the fried eggs are the best he's had in hotels). We were a little worried about staying in such a large hotel,but please,don't let this put you off,as it doesn't feel big @ all. Can't get over the fact, you NEVER have to wait for the lift. The sunloungers are around the pool & gardens NOT on top of each other,but the best sunloungers to me are on the balconies,they are so comfy!! We stayed in superior pool view room (2356),SO,modern,so much wardrobe/storage place, AMAZING showers great pressure.15mins walk on the flat to the wonderful marina & little canals- SO pretty. 5mins walk to the small bus station. 2mins walk to the supermarket. I could go on & on, but please try for yourself. We cannot wait to come back. To every member of staff a MASSIVE THANKYOU for treating us like Royalty.

Honest review. This should be a 5 star top notch hotel complex. For me it just isn't good enough, because although it has all the features & facilities, the hotel appears to need a lot spending on it. We saw peeling paint, a wall pillar in a public walkway falling apart. The areas around the quiet pool are in my opinion, dangerous, with pieces of plastic drain grating broken & covered in green algae (accident waiting to happen). Some of the pool showers don't work & haven't worked for some time . The list of issues goes on & on, to me this hotel is starting to look shabby & tried. That said, the staff seem to work their socks off & are brilliant, with the exception of our receptionist who never told us that as a late arrival a cold buffet had been laid on & upgrades were available. When we complained that we hadn't been given this information, we were told ' well 15 other late arrivals were told'. So that's all right then!! Food was pretty good on the whole , although we did get virtually raw chicken served to us one evening! As I have said , on the surface the hotel looks good and should be. We were disappointed with hotel and talking to some other guests, so were they, although we could have been just very unlucky!

This is a good hotel. If something isn't right they do have management processes to try to address it in a reasonable manner. I had a generally good experience. The Superior room was very comfortable. If you get one with a view over the quiet area and pool you've done well. There are a few quirks though and if you trawl through the reviews some themes repeat themselves. These tend to revolve around housekeeping, variable food quality and service. I had no problems with the housekeeping and cleaning. Ten Euros direct saw to that. There is a wide variety of food on offer in the nice, air conditioned restaurant but yes, the quality is a little inconsistent. There is an a la carte restaurant which I chose not to try but at least they do have that option. There are three pools including a large one in the quiet zone. There is no reserving sunbeds pre 1000 but there are still people up at 0800 doing just that and rolling parasols around. Two people with three parasols is a bit much I think. That said, it's an excellent place for some simple relaxation. The entertainment is a bit low key. Depends on your taste I guess. There is usually someone singing outside at dinner. There was an ABBA tribute group of two ladies in platform shoes. Generally speaking, the entertainment doesn't go on past 2230. The location of the hotel is about 1 km from the beach and marina. It is surrounded on 3 sides by steep rocky, barren mountains. The beach is really a small area of sand that's very crowded. The marina is very nice and has many good places to eat. There isn't much else to do. There is a bus station though, where you can get to Las Palmas and other places on the island. This is a Radisson so expect some of the things they do well and some quirks. It's a modern styled, even clinical hotel rather than a more traditional one. The pool bar - They have just one till. You have to line up at that one till to get a drink no matter how many people behind the bar. Unfortunate if the person in front orders two cocktails and 3 smoothies. Sometimes there's only one or two people there. It also shuts before dinner rather than be a focal point for socialising. Elevators - The elevators are tiny. You really can't comfortably get more than 4 people in one. If a parent with a pram and another child is already in then you probably aren't going to be able to get in. That said, there wasn't much of a delay in another one arriving. Accommodation - Some of the rooms don't have a very nice aspect ie onto a busy road and car park. The one I eventually had was excellent. The air con was perfect and the bed super comfortable. Fridge and safe in the room. Nice padded sun loungers and table and chairs on balcony. TV - Regrettably no English channels excepting SKY News and BBC News. Gymnasium - Not extensively equipped. Gets busy at 0800. They need another incline bench and another bike but they are space limited. Staff/service - Management excellent at addressing initial room allocat

Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is great, pretty much everything you want from a hotel. We only had bed and breakfast and breakfast was very good, you always had a clean table for you whatever time you went down and the choice of foods were really good. The pool area is a big plus for me as I hate having someone really close to me when I’m by the pool and theirs plenty of space for you to get your own space and you don’t need to go down at 7am to get a sunbed, we were down by the pool at 9am ish most mornings and we were one of the first down there. The cleaning on the ground floor is none stop with their floor cleaning machines keeping the place spotless, just put a bit of extra effort in the pool area. The artificial grass some mornings looked like it needed vacuuming, the tables by the sunbeds were dirty but apart from that we have booked again for September 2025. The room on the 4th floor with the pool view was worth the extra to upgrade it. Thanks for a lovely holiday

Just wanted to mention the very good points on Raddison Blu Mogan and a couple of minor points. The Staff on Reception and In The Restaurants including chefs and servers were excellent. They were very engaging and courteous, helpful and could not be more helpful. Food choice was excellent although if you prefer food hotter it would of been handy if a microwave would of been available. Hotel bedrooms were looking a bit tired and needed repainting , there was a lot of dirty marks on wall. Not what I would expect from price point of view. Housekeeping hit and miss. I noticed that a pillow was missing a pillow protector. Not very hygienic. . Also just a observation that the tables laid and set with clean cutlery on outside tables were then walked over by pigeons which seemed unhygienic. I also agree with outside sunbeds being very uncomfortable. Can I really commend the Reception and all staff in the restaurants.

You won’t be disappointed. Great hotel and spa that is clean and maintained really well. Staff go above and beyond to help and support you and treat you speciall.

Have just returned from a 9 night stay. Brilliant stay from the moment we walked in. Very clean and excellent daily housekeeping. We went for Bed and Breakfast option and Breakfast was excellent with great choices at all times. 10 minute flat walk to the harbour area where there are numerous restaurants for evening dining. Sun loungers always available by the pool, Rooms are very spacious with generous balcony. Will be back
