Komodo Lodge
4.3/574 Reviews
We stayed in this hotel for one night either side of our Liveaboard trip (so two nights). It’s cheap and extremely accessible for the port, so idea if you just want somewhere to sleep either side. However, the basic and superior rooms are almost entirely two different hotels. We initially booked basic, as the pictures looked fine, but these rooms were terrible. Incredibly small and dark, filled with mosquitos, shower didn’t work properly and the room was incredibly loud at night and right until the early hours because of the strangest disco which seemed to only have like 4 people in attendance but still played all night. After complaining about our room and asking to be moved to the new building for the second night of our stay (when we returned from our Liveaboard), where all the rooms were the superior ones, it was like a completely different hotel. Room was much nicer and all the issues were resolved. The price difference between the two was only small, so just don’t even consider staying unless you book the superior room. Breakfast was fine, fairly basic and nothing to get excited about, but good enough. Music over breakfast was strangely loud though.
Loccal Collection Hotel Komodo

Room was very smal and smelled.. We even had a problem with hot water which forced us to change room after the room was being prepared for 3 hours. Breakfast was very ordinary.
La Cecile Hotel & Cafe Komodo

We got an upgrade to the suite and it was amazing. Great view, nice food and really accommodating, friendly staff. They also arranged a driver for the day for us, and our D much appreciated.
TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo
4.8/536 Reviews
My October 2024 visit to Ta'aktana revealed a remarkable addition to the region. The staff left an indelible impression, demonstrating natural warmth and intuitive attentiveness that set a relaxed tone throughout the stay. The architecture thoughtfully incorporates Manggarai cultural elements, creating an authentic sense of place. The kitchen produces visually striking dishes that deliver on taste, particularly the poached Flores Strait lobster with sautéed cassava leaves and sambal luat. The menu's exploration of regional flavors transformed each meal into a culinary journey. The pool and beach areas, while beautiful, currently have young palm trees that are still growing into their full shade-giving potential. And while I noticed some occasional debris near the rocky beach, these minor details hardly registered against the overall excellence of the experience. The resort's core elements—design, cuisine, and especially service—create something truly special. Ta'aktana operates with a polish that belies its recent opening, offering a distinctive luxury experience in the region. Each element comes together to create something memorable, making it a destination I look forward to revisiting.
Eco Tree O'Tel
4.2/552 Reviews
The location of ECO Tree O'tel is very good because is in the middle of LBJ town centre. I booked for two nights. The room was very clean but very small, our ankle bruised as we keep hitting the bed legs when walking to bathroom & balcony. Functionality issues, the aircon was not cold at all (despite leaving it on the whole day), the windows & balcony sliding door can't close properly, tv remote broken & programme on local TV. I stayed in Rm 17 at level 2, one level below the restaurant. every night till about 1000pm (i think), you will be disturbed by the awful sound stools & chairs being dragged. Wifi to the room very weak, keep disconnecting. The service staffs were very nice, polite and helpful but a lady in civilian (believed to be senior staff, cos the rest were in uniform) wasn't. When making enquiry in her presence during checking-in (in english), the lady heard & replied to the service staff in BI (instead of replying to me), saying something like it's standard to pay for extension & the 3 hours extension is 150K rupiah. The tone & body language was awful (maybe I am sensitive). I felt awful & offended.
