Sadly I cannot recommend this place at all due to a serious mold issue in our room, not spotted until the last day of our trip. Could be many rooms like this. This is not safe for life

Just spent four nights at the hotel and we had a great time. Bedroom - we had a deluxe double on the 4th floor. Corridor seemed neverending. This is a big hotel. The room had a king size bed, small wardrobe (not enough hangers) and a small two seater settee. It could have done with a small coffee table for whilst watching TV. The window opened, lovely sea view, and the room did get hot but there was a fan provided if necessary. Location - at the far end of the prom. Buses stop outside every 20 mins, and go as far as Port Erin or change at terminus for rest of island. Highly recommend using the GoCard bus pass as you can use it on everything. British OAP bus pass not accepted on island. Food - really good. Buffet style for both breakfast and carvery dinner each night (different meat). Hot and tasty. Meat cut really thick and plenty of it. There is also a very good Chinese (Majestic) under the hotel but this is not included in half board. You can also get bar meals in the hotel (extra). Facilities - very nice swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna etc. Theres also a ****** (never tried), bingo hall, cheaper slots (in bingo hall) and cinema on site. The bad - room only gets serviced every 3 days. We were there 4 days and our room as not serviced at all. Not a problem as I'm capable of making a bed and admit to helping myself to supplies (tea bags, milk etc) off the trollies in corridor The shower was pathetic, no power and plastic shower curtain, prefer cubicle. A couple of times I showered in the pool changing rooms as they were much better. Carpets around the hotel are dirty and worn. Paragon restaurant chaotic. No system in place. Booked time slot but no tables available and staff seemed to be all over the place and not using any system ie allocated tables. Put in bar area for breakfast one morning and table not set up - no condiments etc. Lots of big tables and not enough small ones. Bar prices expensive. Two lifts but strangely only one came up from ground floor (had to use stairs to go down). Used to come out on promenade opposite bus stops. Lobby very bleak with dark wood and boring. Reception at back of building by car park. Felt it was good value for money for what we paid. Hotel does need upgrading. Would stay here again.

So unhappy to be given a room where the toilet could not be flushed, went reception right away to be told manager wasnt in. 2nd day he wasnt in either asked to be moved told no availability but the website told a different story, maitenence came 3 times but still wouldnt flush, they left us like that for the 4 nights so had to get dressed each time to use a toilet on the floor below, we paid £114 per night and to be lied to and not be moved is absolutely disgusting

I stayed at the Best Western Palace Hotel and ****** in May 2024 with my husband, two young sons and my parents. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with a spectacular sea view. The food was excellent and suited everyone's needs. The staff are outstanding - very helpful and friendly especially to my children. The swimming pool has a lovely view over the bay and is clean and spacious. My family had a wonderful holiday in the Palace Hotel and we are looking forward to our next stay in the hotel.

I judge the quality of a hotel by the quality of the sleep I get - in this case it would be terrible. It achieved 2 stars only because the breakfast was ok. The room itself was clearly half of an adjoining pair which meant that the barrier to the next door room was very thin. Add to that noisy neighbours who seemed to be at the ****** until 3 am and the chances of sleep were zero. Add to that the fact that the room was little bigger than the double bed it contained. There was barely room to walk around the bed which makes the fact that it was apparently an accessible room even more bemusing. The tiny bath was further restricted by accessibility bars meaning it was all but useless. The cleaning policy seemed to be to not tidy the room for 3 nights giving enough time for a large collection of dead flies to gather on the window sill. There was no air conditioning and the aspect was over the noisy car park meaning that opening the window gave even more noise. This led to the room being very warm overnight. We flagged this to reception staff who seemed less than interested.
