Cadière d’Azur is een schattig dorpje in de Provence, net weg van de highway, die goed hoorbaar is op de kamer. Het hotel is charmant, maar de kamer Favory die wij hadden moet hoognodig worden opgeknapt! De douche was kapot, kon niet gewoon meer hangen, het water liep niet weg en de cabine was het formaat van de jaren 70 van de vorige eeuw in een niet al te beste gîtes. Ook het schuifwandje van de douchecabine was kapot. De wc bril was oud en kapot! Voor de prijzen die dit hotel rekent, moet het veel beter‼️We lieten 5 overhemden, 5 slips en 5 paar sokken wassen en waren totaal verbijsterd over de prijs van € 97. Uiteindelijk werd € 25 afgetrokken, maar wij vonden het bizar, zeker gezien het feit dat onze kamer gewoon beneden alle peil was. Ik zou me schamen gasten zo te ontvangen! Het eten in zowel de bistro als het restaurant was heerlijk en authentiek, met een leuke touch vd Provence!

Unbelievably disappointed with this hotel and a majority of its staff. We experienced a tragic void of cleanliness, professionalism and hospitality during our entire stay at the Mercure Hotel in Toulon, France. Unfortunately, our fruitless attempts to resolve these issues directly with on-site management (which does not exist) and corporate personnel (impossible to contact) leave us feeling violated of our dignity and robbed of our time and money. We hope the following information will help others in the future, including travelers, hospitality staff, Sébastien Bazin, Gilles Pélisson, and the like. CLEANLINESS: Upon our arrival, we could literally see dust and dirt on all of the shelves, counter tops, balconies and floors of the hotel and room. Even the carpet in the room was so dirty it stained the bottom of our clean socks. The toilet room smelled bad, like, well, a used toilet. We politely asked for it to be cleaned, however, no one ever came, not even to freshen up the room at any point during our stay. COMFORT: The air conditioning did not work in our room, ever. When we spoke to the front desk staff about the sweltering temperature of 90 degrees F in our room (even though the thermostat read 16 C) and were informed to “leave the room for awhile to let it work”. We left at 3:30PM and returned at 11PM to a less sweltering temperature of 85 degrees F in our room. We asked staff member available, Alexi/Alex at the front desk, if he could fix the thermostat. He begrudgingly came to take a look and was profusely sweating after one minute in the room. He could not turn on the air conditioning even though the thermostat read the same 16C. He said we could open the window, but that would just let in the bugs in and turn off the air completely. He also suggested we leave the room to wait 15 minutes for it to turn on…? Given that that strategy did not work when suggested earlier, we asked for a different room with working air conditioning. He laughed at us and said no because it would not make his manager happy. We said we would happily speak to the manager about the issue and he laughed again, said no, and stated management is not available on the weekends. We then asked for some sort of a solution and Alexi/Alex appeared annoyed and said “there is nothing to be done” and that he had to get back to his “other duties” at the hotel. Turns out it was actually the end of his shift and he did not want to stay any longer that his end time to deal with this problem. We noted that the sheets and bedding were surprisingly all polyester, which doesn’t breathe like cotton, and acts like a heat conductor and made it more difficult to achieve sleep. He laughed again and said all the rooms are the same and there is nothing to be done. We went back to the front desk to ask for help from the next staff member and found that the only person available was a very kind, intelligent security guard named Cherkre(sp?). I am not entirely sure how did it make it to be a number one hotel in Bandol ! We had limited expectations given the 3* category but we did not anticipate the scarcity of facilities. Pros include proximity to the beach ~ 60-70 meters and relatively quiet location if the school across the street is closed.Also , it has a decent mattress and a fairly good shower. Now the truth: no seaview or terrace from our 1 bedroom junior suite. Dated carpet in the hallways. Tired appearing grayish towels. Falling hooks in otherwise relatively modern bathroom ( were fixed by the staff promptly). The toilet paper dispenser and yellow stains on the ceiling conclude the picture. Parking is on the street. $270 a night feels like a rip-off despite high season

Top Service! Ostersamstag. Check-out. Reifen platt! Noch 570 km bis zur Fähre in Barcelona zu fahren! Die diensthabende Empfangsdame (leider habe ich sie nicht nach ihrem Namen gefragt)hat viel Zeit investiert, um am Ostersamstag eine Werkstatt für uns zu finden. Mit Erfolg! Hat beim (Notreifen)wechsel geholfen! Ihr alleine ist es zu verdanken, dass wir gegen 14 Uhr unsere Reise fortsetzen konnten. Chefs du B&B à Toulon! Vous avez une employée plus que parfaite!!! (son service a été samedi de pâques, le matin) Zimmer: der sogenannte Schreibtisch müsste größer sein (er sollte Platz für ein Laptop haben),es sollte einen kleinen Tisch und zwei Sessel geben. Es gab keinen Platz, um zur Nacht abgelegte Kleidung abzulegen. Top: Tiefgarage mit direktem Zugang zu den Zimmeretagen. Achtung: man muss erst vor dem Hotel vorfahren (wenig Platz), an der Rezeption einchecken und zahlen, denn erst dann ist das System in der Lage, den Zugangscode für die Garageneinfahrt zu generieren.

We had an unplanned 4 night stay at the hotel following a break in to our camper van (which was parked by the naval barracks in central Toulon). All of our personal belongings were stolen, including our passports; all we had with us was our little dog, his food and feeding bowls and the clothes we were wearing. We arrived very late in the evening to the hotel (without a reservation) and still in complete shock. We were able to securely park our damaged van in the underground car park and made our way to reception. There, we were met by Kevin, who was brilliant and very understanding - he made sure we had everything we needed before we went to bed that night. The next morning, we had a huge amount of admin and logistics to navigate, as our original plan was to travel onwards to Mallorca, and this is when we met Samuel. There were countless times that myself and partner asked Samuel for his help and advice with trying to print documents and assist with communicating on our behalf. Our French isn’t very good and the team’s English is excellent! He went above and beyond to help us. Nothing was a problem despite him and the team being very busy. We met Bernard a few days into our stay and he also demonstrated the same will to help, cheerfulness and professionalism. He was able to find a good vet for us close to the hotel who was able to help with paperwork and worming treatment for our dog so we could return together back to the U.K. We are extremely grateful to Kevin, Samuel and Bernard for their fantastic service and help. It made a huge difference to us following a very stressful experience. Although most of our interactions were with the guys, we could see that the entire team work really well together and are very organised. There is a good rapport between them all. Thank you to everyone. We are so grateful. It’s the best hospitality and kindness we’ve experienced for a long time. Keep being brilliant!

This hotel is really beautiful, close to the beach to the outrageous, the room is also very beautiful, invincible sea view, sitting on the balcony and looking at the sea view in front of you, absolutely.
