Hotels Near Lofoten Gaver og Brukskunst in Leknes

Great hotel. Leknes is a small town. I rented a car from Leknes Airport. It is only a few minutes away from the hotel. Parking at the entrance of the hotel is also free. The location is easy to find. There is a gas station and a supermarket nearby, which are only a few minutes' walk away, which is very convenient. The hotel room facilities are also very new, very comfortable to live, and the restaurant downstairs serves breakfast, which is very hearty. I stayed in the Lofoten Islands for three days and two nights. I came and went by plane in Leknes. Personally, I think this is a more reasonable way. Leknes is indeed a convenient transfer station, and this hotel is also very good. , In general, it was a great experience and worth recommending.

Most enjoyable two night stay with super staff - both at check-in with Marcus and all those working in the restaurant. The harbour location is really quiet and well off the main road. Charming rorbu fishermen's cottage (this is not a 3/4 star standard hotel so you should do a little research in advance as to facilities). Strong wi-fi and looking out on the harbour from our cottage was idyllic. The restaurant, separately housed, was equally impressive in all respects and for evening meals do not even consider Ballstad town, stay home and eat ”in.” Ambience, cuisine and service was very good indeed. Outstanding stay in Nusfjord. We loved our one bedroom cabin with living room. The accommodation was very clean and cosy. We appreciated the number of hooks and hangers to accommodate clothing damp from the rain. The bathroom was well appointed. The robes and slippers came in handy for use at the spa. Hot tubs, sauna, and cold plunge were wonderful; we especially appreciated the unlimited use after 4pm (no need to reserve). The view from the hot tubs was stunning and relaxing. The en suite Nespresso machine was a welcome start to the morning. The food at the restaurant was excellent; we didn't have any problems with the limited selection. Breakfast was excellent with multiple choices to suit the varied dietary requirements and desires of our group. Some reviewers complain about the cost; we found the cost typical for Lofoten. The village was great for a day of exploring. The vanilla custard rolls at Hansines Bakeri are not to be missed. We spend a morning in sea kayaks/ SUPs; what a wonderful way to explore the fjord. I did not know what to expect for the RIB boat; it's like a roller coaster-- exhilarating and fun. We got to see several sea eagles up close; don't hesitate to book the RIB boat. Some reviewers wrote that being in the harbor cottages was like being in a zoo; yes, tourists do come close to the cabins, need to keep your curtains drawn, but the harbor closes to tourists in the early evening, and most of the day you should be out exploring anyway. I hadn't realized that Nudfjord Arctic Resort had been featured on the BBC until I came to write this review; it's truly deserving of the accolade. Our group stayed at 3 other accommodations in Lofoten, and we unanimously agreed that Nusfjord Arctic Resort was the best of the best. 100% recommend. Would love to come back.

We stayed here last week. We booked for 2 nights but left after one. It's a basic hostel, rather than the ”Rorbuer” it is advertised as on ***********. It's quite scrappy outside with a dark interior (I guess the lights were switched off to save energy?) But it was clean enough. We had a twin room, which was large and tidy. But it was next to one of the two kitchens. The night we stayed, the hostel was very busy with a large groups of friends occupying each of the kitchens. They took over every table and worksurface and were preparing extensive meals using most of the utensils. So there was nowhere for us to prepare our dinner or even to sit down. When we entered either kitchen we were met with stares of surprise that we had trespassed into their ”space” and one woman even told my wife not to use the last remaining saucepan as they needed it for their cooking. The second group simply shut the kitchen door as a sign that this was their ”space”. So much for ”communal spirit”! They occupied both kitchens from 5 pm to 10 pm so we had to go out for dinner and buy from an expensive (though tasty) food van nearby. It was hard to sit in our bedroom as there was constant noise from the kitchen next door and the walls were very thin. I had to read my book with my earplugs in for 2 hours. By 10:15 pm people had left the kitchen and we could breathe a sigh of relief. There was an unused bar area outside where we were able to eat our van food, but nowhere inside to escape from the noise. After one night of this we didn't want to risk a second night, so explained our concerns to the manager and left the next morning. On reflection, I guess we were unlucky to be at Lydersen at a busy time when two large groups had decided to take over the hostel (though this may be a common occurrence in the summer?) The hostel is basic, and the walls very thin, and there are not enough utensils to cope with busy times in the kitchens. It would be great to have a lounge where people can escape when the kitchens are full. The location is good, so my advice would be to go in expecting the worse and you may be lucky to find it quiet or at least occupied by smaller groups/individuals who don't think they own the place.
