A wonderful gem of a hotel in a beautiful setting. We were very well looked after. Comfortable room and wonderful food served in the bar. We were staying with our two dogs, and they were made as welcome as we were. John and Craig have created a lovely place to base yourself for a few days in Yorkshire.

Excellent three night stay at The Middle House. We couldn't fault it whatsoever. All the staff were so helpful and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The meals, both breakfast and evening, were superb. We'll definitely have a return visit.

I had a 3 night stay in this lovely hotel in a beautiful location, The bedroom was most comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was freshly made with a great variety of hot food, and the addition of a cold buffet catered for every need. We were also fortunate as a family to sample the delicious Sunday lunch, which was one of the best I've ever had! We were made to feel very welcome by John and Craig, and I would absolutely love to stay here again.

We stayed for three nights as part of a big family reunion. From the moment we arrived to when we all left we couldn’t have asked for more from the team here. Great food, first class service from everyone and a friendly welcome. John and Craig know exactly what hospitality means and that makes a difference !

John, Craig and the team were all excellent and could not do enough for us. The room was spotless and comfortable, the food excellent….one of the best fish pies I’ve ever had. A lovely bar with lots of friendly locals, always a good sign. Will definitely visit again.

What a fantastic stay. Can not fault this hotel in any way. Highly recommended. Staff were welcoming , friendly and helpful in every way. Room fully equipped clean and comfortable. The food was simply amazing both breakfast and everything we had off the evening menu. Can’t wait to visit again

Two nights away at Middle House. Very helpful and responsive owner / managers, quickly attended to our needs. Free room upgrade generously offered, and much appreciated. You won’t get a better breakfast anywhere in the U.K. Fresh fruit / berries; juices; and all options from full English cooked. Excellent secure quiet parking to the rear.

Now called the middle house hotel.
Met by the new owner on arrival, who explained the hotel had change hand and they where revamping. The work they had already done was lovely.
Rooms clean and very comfortable, lovely bathroom with shower and bath.
Bar area very spacious with lovely dining room off the main bar. Small games room with pool table and dartboard.
Breakfast was very good, great variety of food available.
Will definitely stay again

Ate Sunday lunch here recently and it was faultless. Beautiful slices of beef and plenty of well cooked, not overcooked veg with a lovely taste and bite to it. Great value for money. So glad I didn't go for a starter. Theres a good selection of local beers in the bar and it's a great place to relax. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
