"Ideal location for touring Wensleydale. We visited Ribblehead Viaduct, Hawes cheese factory, Aysgarth Falls, and went up to Richmond. There's a good atmosphere in the hotel as it's frequented by many locals. The room was basic, but for the value, it was absolutely great. We had an evening meal, and just as the signs say, it was 'good Yorkshire grub'. Breakfast set us up perfectly for another day of touring the area. All the staff were very friendly. I wish the owners every success."

"We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights bed and breakfast. The room had a lovely 4 poster bed with a panoramic view of the countryside. We didn’t dine in the evening as visiting friends but breakfast was exceptional. Also very pleasant service staff."

"Location was really good for a base to see the Yorkshire dales. We had a good relaxed welcome by Ann and Barry and shown to room No1. Double sized room with a wonderful view and all the facilities that we required. The room was clean and tidy with extra pillows and covers if you require them. The house is well kept and tastefully furnished. Barry was in the dining room to welcome us for breakfast and to offer us hot drinks. We opted for the cooked breakfast and were not disappointed, there are also other choices if you require them. Overall this is a place we would recommend for someone to stay and we would definitely stay here again."

"Running out of words to describe this hotel and restaurant and staff. We have been coming here when we have been able, for nearly 20 yrs now, and can say it gets better each time. The Heifer team are like family and make you so welcome throughout, service is exemplary and the food is on another level. We managed to get in a last minute stay last saturday, met some lovely couples and really had a great time .... can't recommend the Heifer highly enough. Thankyou. Fiona & Guy"
