I’ve rarely ever felt so welcomed by hotel staff as during my stay at Mulanyu Tangsu Hotel. From being offered freshly brewed Yunnan tea upon arrival, to booking attraction tickets through WeChat for you, and even pouring out a local fruit wine in the evening the 老板(s) really seem to care and it shows! The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Lijiang old town, yet secluded enough to be quiet. Only finding the place can be a bit of a struggle. Regarding the room I can’t fairly assess the price/value because I got a free upgrade. That being said, the room I got upgraded to was fantastic with all the amenities you could wish for. Due to how communal the place feels in the evenings, I also met a number of other travellers that I connected with. So if you are a solo traveller looking to spend an evening with company, this is yet another reason to come here :)

The service by hotel staffs was great. The room cleanliness was good and the architecture was amazing. Can contact them via Wechat if you got anything to ask. We got free upgrade to suite room. We greeted by tea session. Suitable for those liking peaceful place, hill view, and can climb stairs. I would suggest to future customers to set Didi drop point near to Wenchang Palace for less stairs. Can go down stairs going directly to Market Square. Thanks for comfortable stay.

Boss is the nicest, he is a help in everything. I booked the room for multiple times. It’s put of the crowded inner old quarter only about 10 minutes and due to it it’s amazingly quite. The rooms need a bit of renovation but other than that everything is just perfect!

Room was amazing ! Should have stayed an extra day because I was so sick after climbing Jade dragon snow mountain and needed recovery. Host also helped me find a private car with driver for Li Jiang to shangrila at a good price.
