"What an amazing getaway! If you are more into nature and culture....THIS IS YOUR SPOT! It is tucked away inside Shuhe Old Town but you would never know. Once you get there, it is quiet. They are very proud to show you their gardens, their squirrels (they are well provided for), their cats, and what they truly enjoy. We were welcomed with drinks, fruit, and delicious buckwheat bread while we were introduced to the dining area and the movie and games area. Their menu is wonderful. Breakfast is provided and has a set menu of Asian versus Western (i had French toast one morning and pancakes the next) and then an extra section where you can also have yogurt with toppings, fruits, breads, coffee, etc. Other meals are ordered from the menu. The variety is wonderful and the taste and quality are worth it. After traveling throughout China for a few weeks, I really just wanted a burger. The Yak burger was amazing! WARNING: once you pick it up for the first bite, you must commit to it. There is no putting it down. My hands were just a joyous mix of meat juice, cheese dripping, pickle juice, egg dripping....luckily there is a restroom right there to wash up after. Our room was very cute, small, odd, but it worked for us and you could tell it would be cozy come the snow seasons-which we will return for. The odd part was the steps that lead down into the bathroom. I thought, oooo how fun! Not so much in the middle of the night if you are not used to it. But not all rooms have that so don't let that discourage you from enjoying this place. If you are finished walking Shuhe Old Town, there are more options. We decided to walk around the back of the garden. Following the trail, we wound up in a very beautiful park with water and bridges and places to sit. Eventually, we came out at one of the ends of Shuhe. Again, you would never have known because there was no interrupting noises to tell you otherwise. One of the days we took Didi to Baisha Old Town. Another must go! We spent a full day there and still did not finish. Even the rain didn't stop everyone from enjoying everything. Make sure you find the silk art school. It is tucked away but they have a wonderful program. I could do an entire blog on their contributions and empowerment for women but for now, just go enjoy and buy something, support them. Overall, we loved this place and will go back. We were not able to enjoy the mountain this time."

I slept incredibly soundly at night. The room had great natural light, and upon entering, I was immediately charmed by the beautiful courtyard. The room's cleanliness was impeccable, and the facilities were complete. The courtyard's flowers and plants were lovely, making it wonderfully relaxing to sit and enjoy a cup of tea. The owner was genuinely helpful, proactively assisting with luggage and providing local travel tips. Overall, my stay was very relaxed and pleasant."

Overall, the environment, service, and dining were all very impressive. This is definitely a hotel I'd love to stay at again. 👍🏻 If I get the chance to visit this area in the future, I'll absolutely choose this hotel again. 💗"

"The hotel's location is excellent. You can get off the bus right at the entrance of Shizishan Wangu Tower Scenic Area and it's a 3-minute walk from there. Walking in the other direction, you can reach the main road in 5 minutes. The room is very new, and the facilities are all in place, with a hairdryer and electric kettle fully equipped. The outdoor view is definitely a highlight. The owner is also very welcoming."

"Stayed here in end Aug where there wasn’t much snow cap on the mountains and a lot of clouds blocking the mountain peaks, but I’d say that the room view is still really nice because there’s sun, lake, mountain, clouds all in one! What we appreciated from this hotel: 1. The views: on day 1, we had afternoon tea (complimentary with our booking) and just enjoyed the view. We also tried to catch sunrise from our bed, and also enjoyed the view over complimentary breakfast at Level 1. 2. The service: this is the most supportive service we’ve ever had among all the hotels in China and other countries we have been to. - transport: They helped us to schedule complimentary pickup transfers from Lijiang train station to the hotel on our first day and from hotel to Lijiang Sanyi airport on our last day. - Taobao: They also helped me a lot with my many Taobao orders, across communicating with the delivery people, collecting (1x a day) from the collection point, returning some items as they weren’t fitting, applying for refund as my parcels still didn’t arrive on the last day etc. - other advice: getting used to higher altitude in Lijiang, how to use the washing machine & dryer, recovering from diarrhoea, whether we can still visit Lijiang Ancient City at night - other hotel items: gave us makeup remover and cotton pads when we had our photoshoot etc. - food: packed breakfast for us when we had day tours that started from 6am and asked us to pick our breakfast if we’re eating at hotel a day before. - housekeeping: they’d ask us if we’d like housekeeping when we waited for our didi to come. For the 6am day tours when reception wasn’t open yet, we texted them for help to tidy the room and we came back to a tidied room when we returned. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super comprehensive service, we highly appreciated this. 3. Toilet: this toilet has a bidet! We were pleasantly surprised by this. While the area around the hotel is generally still developing, to which one of our Didi drivers said there was growing interest in real estate around the area, among the 3 hotels we stayed in Yunnan so far across Kunming, Dali and Lijiang, this is the best one we have had 😊"

"This hidden gem of a guesthouse is nestled on Lion Mountain in Lijiang Old Town, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ancient city. It's also super convenient, just a short walk to Sifang Street. The rooms are full of Lijiang character, spacious and comfortable. You can tell the owner pays great attention to detail in the common areas; every corner is beautifully maintained. On a nice day, you can brew a pot of tea and spend half the day just gazing at the blue sky, white clouds, and snow-capped mountains – it's truly enough. Plus, there are two popular网红 (trendy/influencer-famous) restaurants and cafes right next door, so you can sort out all your dining, drinking, and entertainment needs in one spot. Highly recommend!"

"The decor is dated, but the overall facilities meet five-star standards. However, I had to get two hairdryers replaced, and both were broken. Is it really that hard to procure a batch of good quality hairdryers when they're so inexpensive now? The restaurant staff's training needs improvement; they seemed clueless when asked anything, and the afternoon tea service was very slow. The travel photography session was quite perfunctory; it was hard to pick even 5 good photos out of the complimentary ones. The front desk service also needs to be improved."

It's very close to Shuhe Ancient Town, making transportation convenient. This is definitely a top choice for a Lijiang getaway – highly recommended!"

The concierge added us on WeChat in advance and meticulously arranged all our requests. The front desk staff, Miya, was warm, thoughtful, and quick-witted, with high work efficiency. She left a deep impression on me. We stayed in an open-plan suite, which was spacious enough, and there's a small courtyard on the first floor, perfect for enjoying tea and relaxing peacefully. InterContinental's quality is consistently excellent, a testament from a member. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the hotel lobby are majestic; on clear days, you can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance. If I visit Lijiang again, InterContinental will still be my first choice."

This hotel boasts an elegant and tranquil environment. Its overall design cleverly blends the characteristics of Yunnan's ethnic minorities, with quaint wooden carvings, exquisite ethnic patterns, and simple yet elegant folk paintings adorning every corner. There's no excessive decoration; it's simple yet refined, with a rich local flavor at every step, creating a wonderful ambiance. The courtyard is dotted with lush greenery, and the gentle breeze makes it peaceful and serene, washing away the fatigue of travel. What's most striking is the hotel's extreme cleanliness and tidiness. The public areas are spotless, sparkling clean, with no clutter or dust in the corners. The guest rooms are bright and airy, with soft, fluffy bedding that's clean and odor-free. "Our stay at Wangli Mountain was truly comfortable these past few days. The moment you open the window in the room, you're greeted by a stunning view of the snowy mountains. Waking up to such a scene every day instantly boosts your mood. I have to commend the toiletries provided; they weren't cheap samples but rather full-sized branded products with a subtle, pleasant scent and a great feel on the skin. It saved me the trouble of bringing my own. The room even had a makeup mirror, which was a thoughtful touch. The guesthouse's common areas were well-designed and interesting. The 5th floor has a relaxation area where you can sit back, enjoy a coffee, and unwind peacefully. On the ground floor, you can experience the Naxi Dajiao dance, which creates a fantastic atmosphere and allows you to enjoy local folk culture. Overall, the room was clean and tidy, and the staff provided very attentive service, responding promptly to any requests. The guesthouse perfectly balances quiet relaxation with engaging activities, offering both tranquil moments for enjoying the scenery with a coffee and the option to join lively folk activities downstairs."

"The hotel is very picturesque, with a cute courtyard and is located a few steps up from the ancient city. So the location and ambience is very good. However, in contrast to what it says online, the staff doesn’t speak any English, all communication is done via translation app. Also, while we got a really nice room with a lovely view on arrival (and were able to check in early!), there seems to be a problem with the wooden beams and/or ceiling in that part of the house - we had black dust on the bed underneath the beams, the ceiling in the bathroom began crumbling on day 2. There were chunks (approx. 5 centimeters in diameter) on the bathroom floor and the ceiling was sagging in places. We got a new room; however the problem with the black dust and small concrete pieces was also prevalent there. Also, we found small insects on the bed, and the bathroom had a smell. Cleaning was not thorough. We decided to leave early after two nights instead of the planned four, which is a pity because there’s a lot of potential once the hygienic and structural (wood beetles?) problems are addressed."
