"Located just outside the north gate of Lijiang Old Town, the location is a big plus — you’re just a short walk into the ancient town, but without the noise and crowds. More importantly, since it’s not inside the old town, it’s very easy to take a cab directly to the doorstep (cars are not allowed within the ancient city), which makes arrival and luggage handling much more convenient. What stood out most was the hospitality. The boss, who is from Tianjin, is incredibly friendly and welcoming — the kind who chats with guests, offers tea, and makes you feel right at home. The courtyard is full of greenery and flowers, creating a calm, cosy space to relax after a day out. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and some areas even offer nice views over the old town."

"I stayed at this hotel with two friends in the room with three single beds. The room was very clean and exactly as shown in the photos. The bedding was comfortable and warm, but there's also air conditioning/heating, so no issues at all ! The bathroom was functional and clean, with everything provided – shampoo, shower gel, towels, slippers, flip-flops, hairdryer, etc. It is also possible to leave your luggage after checkout, which is very nice if your train to leave Lijiang is in the evening. The hotel also gives a bottle of water per customer per day. The location is great, right in the old town, close to all the main sights – about 5 to 20 minutes to get to the Zhongyi Market, Mufu Mansion, Guanmenkou, and more. It's also near an exit from the old town, which makes it quick and easy to get a taxi. Also, the hotel is very easy to find, right next to an excellent coffee shop, and the hotel itself is very beautiful. The owner was extremely kind. He offers to pick you up at the entrance of the old town with a cart – very helpful since it can be tricky with suitcases on the cobblestones (we only had backpacks, so we didn't need it, but it's a great service). He welcomed us with tea and flower cakes at check-in, and even warned us that the cakes contained lard, since one of my friends doesn't eat pork – very thoughtful! He also created a WeChat group so we could ask him questions anytime, and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations nearby. The value for money is excellent ! Don't hesitate to book this hotel – even for foreigners who don't speak Chinese, the owner can use translation apps, and communication is very clear and smooth. If we ever come back to Lijiang, we would definitely stay here again. We had a fantastic stay! 🥰😊"

"The service is top of the top. Owner very friendly l. He even pay didi first for us, since we cannot make transfer. He even very helpful when we asked about halal food. The room so nice with the best view on of hill. Very cold and calm in the morning. He even make a tea for use and gave some of tea for us to bring home. Highly recommended for those looking the place to stay."

"The room was incredibly clean, and the guesthouse itself is a charming courtyard with a lovely environment. The owner was really enthusiastic and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit and eat. The g guesthouse is tucked away in a quiet spot, yet it's still very close to Sifang Street and the Big Waterwheel. I originally booked for just one night, but after experiencing it, I immediately booked two more nights. All in all, it was a fantastic experience!"

"This hotel is excellent! It's located right in Shuhe Ancient Town, and the courtyard is absolutely beautiful. They offer complimentary coffee and tea daily, and you can chat with the owner while you enjoy them. The coffee is even made with a semi-automatic machine, which is great for those who aren't fans of fully automatic ones! The terrace offers direct views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, making it perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It's ideal for both long-term stays and short layovers. Shuhe Ancient Town itself has plenty of delicious food and fun activities, and the hotel also offers convenient takeout delivery. Highly recommend!"

"Staying at Shitouji·Guanshan Xiaoju Inn (Lijiang Old Town Waterwheel Branch) this time was truly an unforgettable and exceptionally satisfying experience. We booked the 270-degree panoramic suite, and as soon as we stepped in, we were amazed by the room's layout and ambiance. The design of the room was very unique; from the views, sunlight, furnishings, to the overall atmosphere, you could really feel the inn's dedication and quality. It looked exactly like the photos on hotel recommendation websites, even more beautiful and textured in person, making us fall in love with Lijiang as soon as we arrived. The innkeeper was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, providing us with a lot of help from check-in until we left. What touched us most was that he didn't just offer accommodation services; he also thoughtfully arranged our Jade Dragon Snow Mountain itinerary, saving us a lot of time and hassle, and making the entire trip much smoother and more relaxed. Even better, the innkeeper was very knowledgeable about the local area and proactively recommended nearby eateries, fun spots, and suitable routes, making our two-day trip to Lijiang Old Town very fulfilling. Although it was a short stay, thanks to the innkeeper's recommendations, we enjoyed delicious food, saw great sights, and avoided many crowds. The itinerary was perfectly planned. The inn's environment is truly special – warm, stylish, and full of stories. Unlike typical commercial hotels, it gives you a sense of ”living in Lijiang.” The evening view from the room was even more memorable, quiet and beautiful, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Even though it was only two short days, we created wonderful memories. We sincerely hope to choose this inn again if we have the chance to revisit Lijiang in the future. I also highly recommend that if you have the opportunity to travel to Lijiang, you must experience this ”premium” level of accommodation. I believe you'll have a comfortable stay, a fun time, and bring home many cherished memories, just like us."
