"Hotel was located in the heart of Lijiang Old Town and so it’s a little difficult for cars to pick up and drop you off. Hotel staff will reach out to you for your WeChat and liaise with you on your arrival time and where to drop off, and even pick you up and your luggage with a little cart. Big shout out to Xiao Yang who picked us up even though it was raining very heavily on the day we arrived and waited for us by checking in on our location from the time we arrived in Lijiang. There was a complimentary tea drinkingprepared by him as well. On knowing that we were heading to jade dragon snow mountain the next day really early in the morning, he even helped us prepare some bread, snacks and milk for us as we would miss the breakfast. 10/10 service. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels waiting for us every day when we came back from our little adventures. They even have a smart toilet for those looking out for it. 10/10 would recommend"

GGuest UserI used to stay in hotels, but this time, wanting to better experience the local culture in Lijiang Old Town, I chose a guesthouse. From the moment we checked in, the owner, like a friend, brewed us tea and offered us flower cakes and dried beef. As soon as we entered our room, the daily afternoon tea set arrived: tiramisu tarts made with real cream, fresh and crisp strawberries and blueberries, and freshly cut cantaloupe and watermelon. I'm very sensitive to smells, and the room's air freshener and toiletries had a scent similar to Le Labo, which was lovely. The room offered great views of the snow-capped mountains. The guesthouse's location on the main street was perfect – lively but quiet. Even as a light sleeper, I was never disturbed by the street noise. Whenever I stayed elsewhere in Yunnan, I unconsciously compared it to this place. This guesthouse is truly my 'white moonlight' in Yunnan, and I'll never consider another option when I come to Lijiang again. Many thanks to the manager for the pick-up, help with luggage, and recommendations for various local specialty restaurants, and to the owner for her warm hospitality and sophisticated taste. The guesthouse serves breakfast; the auntie's rice noodles were generously topped, and the owner's cat, Aobai, is both cute and sassy :)

Kkhaw yee niThe environment is very comfortable, and the front desk staff was super helpful, even carrying our luggage upstairs for us! It's also really convenient for exploring; you can walk to Baisha Ancient Town in just a few minutes. Getting to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is easy too, a taxi ride takes about 30 minutes if there's no traffic. Our room had a beautiful view of the snow-capped mountains 🏔️, and there's an adorable dog named Sanjin ❤️. Plus, the breakfast was delicious!

GGuest UserWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The views are amazing! You can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right from the room, and even catch the sunrise the moment you wake up.
The service was excellent as well. Even though the hotel is a short walk from the nearest car drop-off point, the staff very graciously helped carry our luggage to the hotel and up to our rooms. They also helped to arrange transport for us so it was very convenient!
Breakfast was simple but delicious. On one of the mornings when we had to leave early for our own sunrise trip, the staff thoughtfully prepared breakfast in advance for us to bring along.
Would definitely recommend this cozy little hotel!

SShidaixixiaobeiThis is hands down the best guesthouse/hotel in Lijiang. The design is excellent, and the surrounding scenic area is beautiful.
The service was very responsive, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. They even offered toasts during dinner, which was a nice touch.
There's unlimited complimentary fruit, and a complimentary dinner set menu is also provided.
Horse riding is conveniently located right next door.
Fireplaces are available in the rooms and can be lit upon request.
Now, for areas that could be improved:
The price I paid was 2180, which puts it on par with four or five-star hotels. However, the toiletries provided were very basic. Perhaps my expectations are high, but another hotel I stayed at in Lijiang during this trip offered toiletries that were much more fitting for its price point.
Regarding insects and flies, I understand that being surrounded by nature means there will be bugs, but it was still a bit off-putting at times.
Secondly, there were some minor details that could be improved. I saw staff carrying used linens through the hallways, and there wasn't a clear separation between the kitchen prep area and the dining room. While this gives it a homey, 'down-to-earth' feel, it doesn't quite align with a 2000+ price tag.
I drove myself, so getting around was easy, but I imagine it would be less convenient without a car.

GGuest UserThe room was pretty good, with a nice view overlooking the old town. The hotel also has direct access to a viewing platform, which offers amazing views! There are a lot of steps in the old town, but the staff were really helpful and carried our luggage for us. Breakfast was also quite good, though we only managed to wake up early enough to have it once.

AAnonymous UserThe Courtyard Mansions is an elegant and peaceful place, just a few minutes from the main road, making it very convenient for getting around. The ancient city is beautiful, especially as dusk falls and the lights come on, it becomes even more vibrant. When the bonfire lights up, people gather at Sifang Street to dance, and tourists enthusiastically join in, dancing in a circle. It was a joyful trip.

GGuest UserLijiang is a well-established tourist destination, and its developed tourism industry has nurtured a hotel scene where most hotels in the same price range will likely score a solid, if unremarkable, passing grade. However, if you're seeking a truly discerning aesthetic experience, Baolin might be one of the rare, outstanding answers.
Hotels under the snowy mountains often leverage window views, but after seeing so many, they tend to look alike, sometimes bordering on a tacky 'influencer' vibe. Just when I was overwhelmed and bored with the choices, I spotted Baolin, and it instantly clicked. I booked it without hesitation.
We arrived at Yuhu Village in the evening, amidst a heavy rain. The entire ancient village was steeped in a lake-like blue, truly living up to its name! Our room was on the second floor, painted in a 'cosmic latte' shade, somewhere between beige and warm yellow. The wall near the main bed featured a subtly designed, elongated window, like a scroll painting, effortlessly transforming the serene lake blue outside into a private artwork hanging within the room.
Seeing us drenched, the staff immediately brought two cups of hot ginger tea. And from that ginger tea onwards, everything we consumed at Baolin was delightfully delicious. The rainy weather brought on a lazy mood, so we stayed in and ordered stir-fried beef, 'water-loving' vegetables (水性杨花), stir-fried seasonal greens, golden pheasant flower omelet, and mint ribs, along with orange juice, matcha, hojicha, coffee, and affogato. My thumb was constantly up in approval when it came to the food!
The owner is a true gourmand and managed to find two local chefs. These chefs are shy but extremely meticulous about their cooking. What I thought would be a simple stir-fried beef dish turned out to be incredibly thoughtful, featuring finely chopped large cilantro, tender chive roots, and fragrant wild coriander. Every ingredient was fresh from the local market, vibrant and exuding the wild charm of Yunnan. Stir-fried and blended in the heat, each component wholeheartedly contributed to making the meal exceptionally satisfying and just right!
One evening, we went downstairs to sit by the fire and pet cats. During our chat, we learned the owner is *********. She rummaged through her storeroom and miraculously produced a bottle of Kinmen Kaoliang liquor. We drank it neat after freezing it. Who would have thought ********* liquor would be so perfectly suited to a rainy night on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau? Each sip was crisp and clear, a whirlwind of wheat on the tongue, pushing the joy and comfort of our trip to its absolute peak.
During my school days, I loved staying in B&Bs, seeking a sense of story, where the host's experiences, aesthetics, and taste would form the 'base spirit' of the B&B, overflowing with beauty to share with travelers. After starting work, I sought absolute comfort and a controlled social distance, relegating the expectation of stories to a hidden corner. So why does Baolin count as such a pleasant surprise? It's because the travel goals of both these life stages subtly found their answers here, beauty in harmony. The answer lies in a 'beauty' that withstands scrutiny and contemplation. The burst of joy and surprise upon encountering such beauty is universally shared.

GGuest UserBooked a six-night stay in a mountain-view villa for my family. The views were stunning, the rooms were spotless, the air was fresh, and the service was attentive. There were plenty of activities, and the airport transfers were perfectly on time. My whole family had an absolute blast!
My favorite part was watching the little white geese and ducklings swimming freely in the lake 𓅿𓅹 – they were incredibly cute! In the early morning, you could also witness the magnificent 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' spectacle. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Ersi noodles, which were truly unforgettable.
The staff were always warm and thoughtful, bringing us different special snacks every day, like rose cakes, roasted potatoes, and milk cheese… Each day brought a new surprise! My family also had a deep dive into traditional culture at the hotel, including the Naxi blessing ceremony, recycled paper making, and Dongba calligraphy and painting. It was both professional and fascinating! For those who love traditional culture, this is definitely not to be missed.

GGuest UserI came to Lijiang just to see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and choosing Wangshanxue was absolutely the right decision! I stayed in a snow mountain view room, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered an unobstructed view directly facing the snow mountain. In the morning, I didn't have to rush to find a spot; I just pressed a button to open the electric curtains and watched the 'golden snow-capped mountain' phenomenon from the comfort of my bed, wrapped in a blanket. The entire process, from pink hues to golden, was incredibly therapeutic. The whole room had underfloor heating, which was super warm, so walking barefoot on the floor was comfortable. The bathroom also had underfloor heating—the attention to detail was excellent. The hotel is located next to Baisha Ancient Town, which is quiet and peaceful. Stepping out, you get a taste of local life, but returning to the hotel, you're greeted by the tranquil snow mountain view. It truly felt like a perfect vacation!

Before we got there, I contacted the hotel if it is comfortable for my mom to stay there because she is 88 years old and need to use wheelchair. After that they made up a wechat group to facilitate us. The staff who took care of us , xiao juan , helped us with the trip plan, escorted us to the ancient town of Dayan and Shuhe ,lead us to understand the town of Baisha and helped us with everything we need. She shows her emphaty to people with everthing she does.All the staffs there are young , polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is very suitable for exploring the ancient town of Baisha. The view of the snow mountain can be seen from the inner garden and more clearly from the third floor of the hotel.The room is comfortable with good quality bedsheet , blanket , towels and the heating floor. The breakfast is adequate with a set of chinese small dishes together with a choice of boiled rice or noodles. They provide free coffee all day with daily afternoon tea set and late night sweet soup and plum wine. I feel like I have nothing to ask more and wish to express my gratitude to all the staffs here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all who need to receive impressive service from these lovely staffs.
