This hotel was recommended by a friend, and after actually staying there, I was truly blown away. I rarely, if ever, review hotels, but I wholeheartedly recommend this one.
**Service:** As soon as I booked, a concierge added me on WeChat, providing hotel information and activity arrangements. They even arranged a business car for airport pickup. The service, from check-in to check-out, was incredibly attentive. One night, I felt unwell in the middle of the night and thought everyone would be off duty, but after I mentioned it in the group chat, they immediately brought me an oxygen tank.
**Environment:** The hotel is located at the foot of a snowy mountain, right at the entrance of Yuhu Village, offering first-class scenery. The hotel provides shuttle services to the village whenever needed.
**Food:** The cured pork ribs and free-range chicken hotpot included in the hotel package was absolutely delicious – far better than the restaurants at InterContinental or Aman. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was exquisite, and I really enjoyed that style of breakfast. There's an all-day self-service bar with drinks and fruits, and the fruits are all high quality, including my favorite passion fruit. There's also a very tasty afternoon tea, which can be enjoyed on the lawn if the weather is good.
**Activities:** During our stay, we participated in horseback riding and hiking to pick pinecones and mushrooms (the hotel doesn't allow guests to eat what they pick for safety reasons). The hiking scenery was beautiful, and even my seven-year-old child completed the entire trek.
In short, it was truly a perfect experience.

shareseowAn Unforgettable, High-Quality Stay in Lijiang Old Town!
As a selective traveller, I am thrilled to say that Arula.J has been the absolute best stay of my Yunnan trip. It excels in every category:
1) Stunning Design: The architecture and interior design are beautifully and thoughtfully curated from the moment you step into the courtyard. It offers a tranquil respite from the busy streets beyond its borders.
2) Perfect Location: Offers seamless, effortless access directly into the Lijiang old town and is just a short walk to the Mu Fu (mansion).
3) Exceptional Comfort & Perks: I was spoiled with a free upgrade to a spacious room that beautifully blends modern amenities (like an automatic toilet) with traditional vibes exuding from the room furniture, fittings and etc.
4) Generous Hospitality: They truly prioritise a premium guest experience, with every staff member providing a warm reception, followed by flexible afternoon tea by the water, a complimentary ethnic outfit photoshoot (all softcopies included), free drinks all-day by the pondside, and a thoughtful parting gift of curated tea leaves.
Interacting with Xiao J (their resident deer) and taking photos on the rooftop were absolute highlights. All in all, it has been a flawless experience that enhanced my travel immensely! Thank you, Arula.J!
I highly recommend Arula.J to fellow travellers. Hope you find the unfiltered photos of my Arula.J experience useful in your decision-making.

Guest UserThis was my first time in Lijiang, and after doing some research online, my friend and I decided to stay at this hotel.
The experience truly exceeded our expectations. The guesthouse is tucked away in the ancient city's alleys, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, yet it's only a few minutes' walk to Sifang Street, meaning no long treks with luggage. It's a charming traditional courtyard, and sitting there, soaking up the sun and sipping tea, was incredibly relaxing. Our room was spotless, with an antique charm, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. It was exceptionally quiet at night.
The owner was incredibly thoughtful, meeting us at the alley entrance to help with our luggage. They also recommended authentic local food and less-traveled routes, helping us avoid many tourist traps.
The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, plenty of hot water, and all the amenities we needed. It's a great location, with a quiet atmosphere and heartwarming service.
Plus, there are all sorts of cute little pets you can interact with and take photos of. I genuinely loved it here, and staying at this place in Lijiang Ancient City is definitely a no-brainer. I'll choose it again next time I visit!

JunziwukouhaoqiuThis hotel is perfectly situated at the entrance to Qiyi Street, south gate of Dayan Ancient Town. It's ideally located at the historical Tea Horse Road gateway into the city, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of Sifang Street.
My biggest impression is 'small yet beautiful'. Being small, it's a courtyard-style building nestled within the ancient town, avoiding the impersonal feel of larger hotels and allowing for more focus on the guest experience. Because it's integrated into the fabric of the old town, stepping out means encountering flagstone streets and Naxi life, while stepping in offers the privacy of a quiet courtyard. It's not some cold, mass-produced product; its unique character is something I really appreciate.
Indigo and the InterContinental across the street belong to the same group, so all facilities and resources are shared. You can freely access the InterContinental. If you get tired of Indigo's set breakfast, you can go to the InterContinental for their buffet, or even visit their lobby to see the 'Sunlight on Golden Mountain' view.
I've stayed in both the deluxe boutique room with a courtyard and the suite at Indigo, and I loved them both. The decor beautifully reflects Naxi and Tea Horse cultures, making them truly worth experiencing.
Last but not least, I must commend Manager Pu. He was incredibly responsive to every request, from helping with luggage to coordinating details, making us feel truly at home. You couldn't ask for more.
I look forward to returning 'home' again someday.

I did a lot of research before my trip and finally chose one of the top 50 guesthouses in the country, and it turned out to be the right choice. The day before my trip, the butler arranged airport pickup service. The driver arrived on time, was friendly and polite, and the butler was there to greet us at the drop-off point. The bumpy stone road was indeed difficult to navigate, so luckily, a rickshaw took our luggage to the hotel.
Stepping into the hotel, the garden landscape was delightful. The room was set up exactly as I requested—clean and with a broad view.
The biggest difference between a guesthouse and a hotel is that a guesthouse truly considers guests' daily living habits. A dryer, dehumidifier, bathtub liners, facial cleanser, and laundry detergent were all provided. There were also disposable slippers and eco-friendly bath towels that you could take with you. The guesthouse thought of everything a guest might need.
Whenever you feel like a drink, just head down to the lobby, and the butler will freshly grind and prepare a small coffee latte for you—fragrant, rich, and delightful.
During leisure time, children can do crafts in the lobby. Everything was very satisfying.

Guest UserThis hotel is excellent! They upgraded our room, which was perfect for two adults and two children – not cramped at all. The hotel food was also fantastic, so we didn't even need to go out looking for meals. The activities organized by the hotel were great too; the kids had a blast. Xiao Xi and Xiao Kai took the children to 'Wilderness Hunter,' which was a really meaningful experience.

If you're visiting Lijiang's Shuhe Ancient Town, you absolutely cannot miss the amazing Guanxin Inn! The environment here is beautiful, with lush greenery in the courtyard and fresh air that instantly helps you relax. The bedding in the rooms is exceptionally comfortable – a good night's sleep here will leave you feeling completely refreshed! The service is incredibly thoughtful and attentive; no matter what you need, they'll help you out, making you feel as warm and welcome as if you were at home. Step outside the inn and you can immediately experience the ancient town's unique charm and leisurely pace of life, making it perfect for a relaxing vacation and capturing some great photos! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and immersive experience of Lijiang's culture!

This was my 12th visit to Lijiang, and this time I chose the Banyan Tree.
**The Bad:** The facilities are old and outdated. The doors on both the first and second floors are so old and worn out that they no longer close properly; you can only勉强 align them and use the chain lock. The shower water temperature fluctuates wildly, going from scalding hot to ice cold in an instant. The overall decor is dated, and the equipment is showing its age. The carpets, tables, and other furniture are all worn.
**The Good:** The excellent housekeeping auntie. She seemed to be a local ethnic minority, and she brought a small gift every day. She was honest and simple, and kept the room very clean. A definite thumbs up for her.
**The Good:** The outstanding hotel concierge, Elin Zhou. She was incredibly responsive and fulfilled every request promptly. The original pillows in the room were too soft to sleep on, and the concierge quickly sent someone to bring firmer pillows that same evening. She also arranged a complimentary airport transfer when we checked out. She messaged us daily during our stay to check in. Such an excellent employee – the hotel should definitely reward her.
**The Good:** Although the selection at the Chinese restaurant wasn't vast, the food quality was excellent. The stir-fried Naxi ******* pork was outstanding; I literally ate two plates of it.
**Overall:** The hotel offers great privacy, and the gardens are lovely. The exterior maintenance is commendable. However, it's a case of 'all that glitters is not gold' – the interior of the rooms desperately needs renovation and refurbishment. The internal facilities simply can't compare to other five-star hotels in Lijiang anymore. That unforgettable musty smell when you enter the room... ugh.

Guest UserSo thoughtful! Incredible value for money! A new favorite hotel added to my list!
**Ambiance:** The owner is an artist, and the entire courtyard and rooms are decorated with amazing taste – rustic yet perfect for photos. Since we traveled during the off-season, they kindly upgraded our room. The view of the mountains through the wooden window was stunning, and bathing while enjoying the scenery was absolutely divine! I fell in love after just one stay and am already thinking about a second visit!
**Service:** All the staff were wonderful! The proprietress was super nice; she taught us how to make scented candles and print beautiful 'jiama' (traditional paper talismans)! We also made moxa hammers, tea cakes, and many other crafts. There are so many hands-on experiences that you'll never get bored staying at the hotel. Oh, and they even helped us capture some lovely photos! On the morning of our departure, when the weather was finally good, they led us in a sound healing session with singing bowls, which was incredibly relaxing for both body and mind!
**Cleanliness:** It was genuinely clean. I was scared of bugs after staying at a hotel with spiders the day before. Although this hotel is in the mountains, the reviews all mentioned it was clean and hygienic, so I bravely went for it and definitely made the right choice! It was very clean and tidy, and the toiletries provided were also excellent.
On a rainy afternoon, we even had a tea ceremony around a stove in the courtyard. Behind us were lush green snow-capped mountains. Roasting by the fire, watching raindrops fall into the pool, and sipping the prepared ancient tree tea mixed with milk, goji berries, and red dates was incredibly fragrant and healthy.
The little cats in the courtyard are also amazing! Yuanbao (a cat) is particularly beautiful, a true feline supermodel. There are many adorable cats, and they're all very friendly, coming over when called as if they understand human language. The little dog is super cute too! We originally went to feed the deer, but the dog, unable to snatch leaves, playfully got angry and nipped at the fawns to stop them from eating – so endearing.
**'Goodnight Treat':** The special sweet soup for goodnight was delicious! Cold fruit wine and warm mini tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) in a thermos – so thoughtful to offer both cold and warm options~
I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Lijiang, and I hope I can bring my own dog! I feel it's even better than Banyan Tree, a very humane and loving courtyard, and the value for money is truly outstanding! I sincerely recommend it to everyone!

Guest UserI booked this last minute for a layover, and the location near the train station was incredibly convenient for anyone needing to catch transportation. The room effectively blocked out street noise, ensuring a quiet and undisturbed night's sleep. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offered an expansive view, and on a clear day, the distant view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was absolutely stunning. The hotel's infrastructure was well-maintained; the air conditioning, lighting, and internet were consistently stable. The self-service laundry room was open 24/7, and charging facilities were always available. The front desk staff handled check-in/check-out efficiently and were flexible with adjusting times. Luggage storage was secure and reliable. This is an excellent choice for a short break, and the overall quality surpassed other hotels in the same price range.
