Hotel de La Paix

Location is good, near the Lille Flandres station. Also near a collapsed building, which is a little scary, but was not a problem during our stay. Hotel is beautiful & clean, although each room has a different layout, so quality may vary a bit. Concierge is very nice, but is not always guarding the front desk. Biggest problem is the hotel is infested with mosquitoes & has no air conditioning. My room also didn't have any outlets near the bed, making it difficult to plug in my phone or fans.

Perfect location near transportation, shopping and The center of the city. Bed was a little too hard for our taste, but otherwise charming and would gladly stay again

Definitely a place for those who prefer old-fashioned charm, but not tacky at all. Unfortunately the lift was broken when we were there, and we couldnt find any heating or a/c controls, but the room was very comfy. Decent breakfast, friendly staff. We did enjoy it overall.

The hotel is really well situated to explore all that Central Lille has to offer with the olde worlde cobbled stone streets that yield endless independent shops and the new Westfield shopping centre. Within walking distance of both Euro Lille and Lille Flanders railway stations and just around the corner from the Chris**as market. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was busy and served on individual trays to your table along with additional items on the counter. We booked a double bedroom. Unfortunately it was not as described:- there was no in room safe and the bath/ shower combination was actually just a small shower cubicle in the small bathroom. The room was not as big as we are accustomed to with very little room around the bed. As we were there for only three nights we made the most of it and revelled instead in the beautiful city of Lille.
