Hotels Near Garcilazo de La Vega Park in Lima

This is a great place to stay if, like us, you were using Lima as a jumping off point to get to different places in Peru. It is just outside the airport (and across several insanely crazy roads so I do NOT suggest that you walk there!) and there is a free shuttle that runs every 10-15 minutes. Once you get out of baggage claim, go to the lien of desks for taxis, transportations and go to Direct Taxi 9blue sign) and let them know you need the Holiday Inn shuttle. Someone will take you outside (past all the freelance taxi drivers vying for your attention) to the place where the shuttle comes. (if you ask a freelance taxi driver for the free shuttle, don't be surprised if they see there is not one- WRONG.) The hotel is quite comfortable (and quite busy!) and its restaurant is open 24/7. I had the tuna rice bowl (I know- taking a chance) and it was excellent. My sister's pizza was fair and my brother in law does NOT recommend the hamburger- but hey, Holiday Inn is not a place you think of for haute cuisine. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful; check in takes a bit longer than you might expect but I think that is because the peruvian government requires more than the usual number of forms at this place- not entirely sure. The rooms are spacious (ask for 2 key cards as one must be inserted into the slot just inside the door to activate the electricity so if you are staying with someone who wants to stay in the room while you go down to grab a bite or a beverage, you will need to leave a least one key for the remaining person to not be left utterly in the dark). It was comfortable, very convenient, and quite reasonably priced. To get into town, they will call a registered taxi 9or you can Uber) and it will run about $15-20 USD. would definitely stay here again if our itinerary was anything like ours which was ”Lima to Iquitos to Lima to Cusco to Lima to home!”

The hotel is right opposite the airport. Since I had to catch a flight the next day, I chose a hotel close to the airport! Eating and drinking is convenient, and the hotel environment is also very good! It’s just that it’s quite far from the city, and the traffic in Lima is quite congested!

We spent only one night to rest until the next day we take another flight. Despite our arrival at 11:00 pm, Mr. Martin was very receptionist, careful and educated, he received us with a few sweets and drinks and the next day, though early at 6:00 pm, he provided us a delicious breakfast!! The accommodation, although it was an old house, was well clean and careful.

The hotel itself is not 7 stars, but it is the people who work there who makes it such a nice place. Didn’t have a bad experience here, my wife and I happened to be in Peru for a funeral and I had a health issue due to the emotional stress. Santiago from the reception was prompt to call the ambulance and they could fix the situation. Also when friends and family came to visit, I befriended waiter Carlos Abanto, very good guy, he deserves all the compliments, super professional. Because of people like them I plan to come back. Also Zarai Chileno (waitress) was nice and Jose the guy who used to clean my room. With this staff and location I assure you a lot of returning business and many good years to come. Reservé 2 habitaciones standard para año nuevo 2024, una con cama matrimonial para mi hijo y para mí, y la otra con 2 camas. Y al momento de la reserva especifiqué que necesitaba que estén una al lado de la otra, o exactamente al frente. Cuando hice check in, fuimos a las habitaciones y la mía era cama doble y encima no estaban al frente, felizmente la señora de recepción pudo solucionar pero estuvimos bastante rato esperando. Luego, a las 5y30pm aprox llamo a Room Service para pedir la cena de mi hijo, me contesta un chico y me toma el pedido. Pasa 1 HORA, llamo para saber cuánto más iba a demorar y un señor de restaurante de muy mala manera me dice que no tiene ningún pedido y que no era su problema porque él acababa de entrar a turno. Me pareció una pésima atención y pésima forma de resolver un problema. Obviamente tuve que volver a hacer el pedido y esperar más, pero dejó mucho que desear la respuesta de su personal del restaurante e hizo que me amargue el momento. Finalmente, en recepción a la hora del check in preguntamos si Room Service atendería normal hasta las 11pm, nos dijo que sí. Cuando nos fueron a dejar la comida de mi hijo, volví a preguntar al mozo y me dijo que ya no tomaban pedidos porque estaban con la cena buffet. Entonces nos iban a dejar sin cena a mi familia y a mí, ya que al estar con un niño pequeño él ya iba a dormir y yo no iba a poder salir al restaurante. Después de insistir, accedió a tomarnos el pedido pero tenía que ser en ese momento (siendo 7pm, comida llegó 7y20) y lamentablemente tuve que cenar comida fría ya que recién pude hacerlo después de dormir a mi hijo a las 8y30pm aprox. Realmente no volvería al hotel por tener tantas malas experiencias en 1 solo día de estadía.

Summary: a very good hotel that gets its core mission right, with minor room for improvement to get a perfect score next time. The good: Staff: all staff I encountered from security at the front door to the check-in and restaurant/bar staff were excellent. All FOH staff spoke good to excellent English. A special thanks to Diego at the front desk for being especially friendly and going above and beyond to help me manage multiple reservations I had booked for this property, allowing me to stay in my original room and not have to check out and back in. Thanks also to Henry from the bar/restaurant for his warm and friendly service that made me feel especially welcome and valued. The room: what a fantastic room. Hotel is relatively new and as you’d expect the room is modern, with a seperate desk space for working and plentiful AC and USB charging points for your devices. A very modern bathroom with high pressure rainfall shower and seperate toilet behind a floor to ceiling frosted door. Food/drink: food and drink was excellent, plenty of local and western choices. Not local or authentic by any means but the ‘Texas Burger’ and ‘BBQ Wings’ wouldn’t be out of place at any high quality US diner. Location: hotel is in a safe, quiet pocket of Miraflores within walking distance to the beach, Kennedy park, Lacomar mall and Barranco. There are bus stops nearby if you wish to go to the Lima historic centre. The bad: The bedding: this seems like such an oversight, but the bedding was terrible. Tiny small pillows that are reminiscent of the ones you get given on airplanes and a scratchy blanket that brought back memories from school camp. This seems like an easy one to fix. Noisy: half way through my stay I got some noisy neighbours in the next room and you could hear their conversations clear as day through the wall. So be aware so this may be an issue. Fortunately in my case they went quiet at night time and my sleep wasn’t impacted. Smoking: while this is a smoke free property, the smoking area is right by the front door so you often have to walk through a plume of smoke to enter the property. Please consider moving the smoking area to the other side of the driveway. Conclusion: A very good hotel. If I return to Limq, this would likely be my first choice. This property is better than many Hilton (main brand) I’ve stayed at.

The room is clean and tidy, the environment is safe and comfortable, and the service is warm and generous. Next time I will stay at this hotel, the price is relatively high. It's really good. Can consider.

A great choice in the heart of Miraflores. A clean, modern and very quiet hotel close to everything. 1 block away from airport bus stop and 10 minutes walk from the beach. Rooms were serviced everyday and they were more than adequate, I stayed for 2 weeks and had no issues. Many cafes and resturants around the hotel, I did not eat at the hotel itself heover it seemed reasonable and many others did. Highly recommended.
