The Ashley Inn & Suites

Lincoln City|3.69km from city centre
I recommend everyone to read this and stay away from this establishment. I booked a stay with this hotel on 7/29/22 until 7/30/22. Was driving into town and needed a place to stay so I use my Chase travel card in order to book this stay. When I got there with my family, I was able to get into my room, which was room 313 on the third floor. Only issue was, I found hanging old underwear from the previous guest in the bathroom. I got a picture and took it up to the front desk person, Maliyah. She didn’t believe me at first until I showed her the picture and she had a nasty attitude, making it seem like it was a hassle to deal with. She told me she did not have any extra rooms and I told her there had to be something she could do. She then said “oh I have another room” and booked me for another room on the first floor right next to the elevator. I thanked her and went into the room. This time however, the room still had garbage in trash bags on the floor as well as a dirty towel next to it. It occurred to me that this room had not been cleaned yet. I went right out and told her the problem. She told me to “wait a moment” and called her manager and expressed frustration that the house cleaning crew had not clean any of the two rooms she had offered me. She continued to have the worst attitude and instead of assisting me in figuring out the situation, told me to wait and moved on to the next guest with no action on her end. I went outside to discuss with my family and we decided to cancel, ask for a refund, and go somewhere else due to the service we received. I went inside and asked to cancel the room and for a refund only for her to tell me that since it was booked through Expedia, I had to take it up to them. I went back outside and called the Chase travel center since they booked my room and had a specialist on the phone who told me that they would contact Expedia but I had to formally go back and ask her to check out. I went back in and Maliyah had started to raise her voice at me and my family, yelling “I cannot check you out until 4am because of audits”. The specialist on the phone was also on speaker and said that it made no sense and that if I wanted to check out, I was given the right to check out regardless of an audit or not. Maliyah then yelled that I could get my bags and get out. The entire time I never matched my tone with hers and stayed calm. The travel specialist I had on the phone had the phone call recorded and heard her aggressiveness and impoliteness towards us. As we left the hotel, the specialist told us she would document everything down and bring it up to Expedia. Expedia would then have to contact the hotel and then the hotel would have to issue the refund. I was told to call the travel agency for updates. From there I found a room at a different hotel, unpacked my stuff, and called back for an update, only to be told that the hotel rejected my request for a refund because “a manager wasn’t there”. I had to call back tomorr

Palace Inn & Suites

Hello everyone who reads this. My Fiance and I stayed at the Palace Inn & Suites in Lincoln City Oregon from October 1st through October 4th. Our drive was 7.5 hrs. Reason for stay was for Surf. (bass competition). I will warn you this review is lengthy. End result in my opinion DO NOT stay there. Continuing on.... Hotel looks okay, the grounds are maintained. So we show up at the hotel, the front desk clerk was very rude, short and snippy with us. Added on another $200.00 for what he claimed to be a deposit because I paid 2/3 with a debit and the other 1/3 with cash. I had plenty of money on my debit card without the added $200.00 that was sprung on us when we arrived. Whatever the guy said we would get it back. I booked the room a month before traveling for $551.00 everything included. I have all receipts. That's a little expensive for us but we have been saving for 6 months just to go to Surf. Paid for room for 3 nights. (big hassle). It was a jacuzzi ”suite”. Lobby looked clean. Headed to the room expecting a nice clean room one would expect to get after paying $721.00 for 3 nights. Now if I would have known what I know now, I would have put a mattress in the back of the truck and slept in a random parking lot. The light above the elevator was busted as was every light on the other floors. First thing as we walk into the room(non smoking). It smelled like dog poo, old cigarette and rotten cow tongue. Its was not pleasant. First thing I noticed was under the makeup table was some trash. Took a couple steps Fiance notices that all the fire suppressors in the ceiling are hanging down. Pretty sure that's a no-no. We set our things down. He walks over to the A/C window and opens drapes. I walk over to the fireplace which looks as though its electric and natural gas. But only runs electric. Little dangerous. I then bent over and looked under the bedside table closest to window and there was trash again. So me being a housekeeper for a very prestigious company needs to see what's going on. We pull every piece of furniture away from the walls and have a look see at what I can describe as ”the room has not been cleaned in a year maybe 9 months”. There was, actually probably still is trash, food, beer caps, old rose peddles, hair ties, zipper parts, animal and human hair galore to name a few under the furniture. Couldn't move bed because I was afraid it would fall apart. But oh yes I did check between the mattresses. There was a remote, animal hair and the skirt that goes around bed, was wadded up between the mattresses. We would have never known it had a maroon skirt if the room had been cleaned. On to the fridge/microwave area. The fridge was dirty and frosted over. As was the freezer. Plus the combo had some human and pet hair and other particles inside. I proceeded by pulling out fridge from wal. The top has not been wiped down in never and there were a few fruit loops and other objects under it. Then microwave....the turn table was dirty so

Lincoln City|3.76km from city centre
We stayed at the Wacoma Inn in Lincoln City, Oregon from July 15 to 25. There were 5 of us. We drove 15 hours to get there! The sheets didn't fit the twin cots in 2nd room and there was blood stains on both of the cots. We found someone's fishing license papers under the sheets so we knew the sheets hadn't been changed when we got there. . We needed to do our laundry (there was one washer for all motel guests staying) they said the washer was broken and would not get fixed the entire stay. They advertise housekeeping (they had no housekeeping). We had to take our room garbage even the bathroom garbage up to front desk every day in a see through plastic bag and hand it over to the clerks (embarassing). There was no grab bars or hair blow dryer in the bathrooom except for a tiny grab bar very low in the tub!! . The workers were very pleasant, and every time we went to get towels they would gladly give them to us. They are located about a half mile from the ocean, dog friendly, but you must walk quite a ways across the drive to take your dog out for the night. The pool is in a seperate building so you freeze in that icy weather after a swim. The free breakfasts never changed once while we were there, biscuits and gravy, eggs that were from a mix, milk one kind of cereal, a few watered down juices, some bagels and yogurt and coffee. The free breakfasts were very cheap to say the least. I do NOT recommend this motel unless you stay one night perhaps. The only good thing the people were nice that worked there and it was clean except for the beds in 2nd bedroom were not clean. Sheets kept sliding off as you slept. Also the heater were dirty, we found cobwebs inside and they smelled bad if turned on. Also the noise level all night long was horrible. Stomping and pounding from guests from above our room. We have stayed at many places but never this bad for noise,, My granddaughter even complained she could not sleep in that noise!! All night long!! For 10 nights I was charged $2500 but they took off a little for our inconvenience. That is worse than Southern California.

We booked this hotel at the last minute. Check in was smooth, and the front desk staff helpful. But. Our first problem was that the cleaning staff never made it to the bathroom, so someone else's towels were wadded up next to the toilet. I went downstairs and got two new towels. Then, I noticed that the public areas were quite dirty; the elevator had a drool on the panel that looked like a kid had blown his nose there. The drool was still there when we checked out two days later. The elevator door track was dirty. The carpeting in the hallways badly needed shampooing. Then the one elevator in the building died, and stayed dead for almost 24 hours. According to an anonymous source (who works there) it was due to debris falling on the elevator door closing mechanism because the vents at the top of the shaft weren't being periodically cleaned. Not Dover's (the elevator company) fault. It appeared to me that the hotel was cutting corners by not hiring enough maintenance and cleaning people and/or not paying enough to retain them. Of course there was no daily tidying up of the room, emptying the trash or exchange of towels. The Covid excuse is getting old; most hotels in this price range now will at least do those minimal things. In addition to the front desk, the breakfast employees were bright spots. They worked very hard keeping the tiny breakfast area clean and the food appealing. Despite this, I doubt if we'll want to stay here again.

Sandcastle Beachfront

This motel is older, modest & no frills. But it was clean, very comfortable beds, small kitchenette with refrigerator, dishware, microwave & coffee pot with coffee, and a nice working fireplace. When they said on the beach, they weren't joking! Every room has a balcony 9 steps from the sand. Throughly enjoyed sitting on our deck and listening to the waves. Not walkable to restaurants, but a short 5 - 10 minute drive. Please note, there is no elevator and 3 stories. Request 1 st floor if you have any mobility issues. Also, there is no A/C .. at first it worried us, but just leaving the slider open at night, cooled it right off. Parking is somewhat limited, but overflow is just across the street. Easy! We will return. Good review especially because of beach location!
Surftides Hotel

If needing an elevator make sure to call, All the rooms do not have one. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have fireplaces to make s’mores, pool and sauna and jacuzzi ( I believe did not go in). The room has a partial view because the other building sits in front of it. Tide low w saw sand and beach. Porch was small but enjoyable. Room was rather musty and worn some but very, very clean. You have access to a beautiful beach. You can have a fire in the beach there too! So even though a bit worn i believe the rest brought it to a 4. We would stay again.
