Torel Palace Lisbon

This is a very special hotel in a beautiful location with beautiful rooms, most with great views, and excellent service. Loved everything about it and recommend it in the strongest terms for leisure travelers.

Spent a night in the Torel Palace hotel and I was impressed by how warm and, at the same time, sofisticated it felt. The rooms are clear, well kept and they all look like royal suites. The staff is very kind and professional. Lisbon is a capital marked by the encounter between the old and the new, and this hotel perfectly encapslues the feeling.

Another hidden gem. What a place to stay in Lisbon. The view! The staff! Top notch. I will return soon. The room on the top floor is just one of the best ever. Please try the Michelin Star restaurant 2 Monkeys. One of the best experiences i had in my life.

Lovely hotel, very clean, staff fantastic, great location with stunning views over the city. Room was very comfortable with nice shower without balcony but not necessary as views over the city were lovely. Great options for breakfast, highly recommended

Extremely hospitable team. Great restaurant, Black Pavilion, on premises. Food was fantastic. Beautiful views. Two pools with some private day beds. Cocktails were awesome, just took a really like time to make no matter what you ordered.

A very relaxing holiday here. The location is perfect for accessing much of Lisbon. The room was spacious and had a comfortable double bed. The hotel has several areas outside for relaxing in, not least enjoying a panoramic view of Lisbon. The breakfast was delicious, offering a wide variety of hot and cold dishes. We ate in the dining room one evening. A relatively small menu, but all dishes sampled were very good. The hotel staff were very friendly and provided an excellent service. Don’t miss chance to climb the tower for even better view of the city.

I recently went to Lisbon and stayed in the Torel Palace having stayed in the Torel 1884 in Porto around a year ago and which I loved. I also loved this hotel. The staff are amazing it has lovely pools and the restaurants and bars are great and the food is good. The rooms are also very nice and it’s set conveniently near the funicular lavra and hence a short journey to the centre of Lisbon. But the real glory is the beautiful terrace which is set high above the city and which contains the aforementioned swimming pools, bars and restaurants elegantly situated in front of the hotel buildings. The hotel was a real highlight of my trip and I loved it. So why then only a four star rating? It should be a four and a half really. The things that were missing were small but noticeable. Some parts of the hotel were not opened due to renovation (but I did not mark down on that). The thing the slightly surprised me was the lack of cupboard storage and hanging space and also the decided lack of plug sockets. In this day and age it’s essential to have powers so your myriad of devices can be powered up but in my room this was in short supply. I suspect I was in an older part of the hotel that may be due an upgrade soon. Having said all that I would definitely go back (but ask for a room with more storage and plug sockets!!!)
