A great spot in Lisbon. Very friendly staff and a beautiful building. A fantastic location that is NOT directly in the middle of everything. Convenient to all transportation.

It is a beautiful place and well maintained. But what stands out the most is the staff. They were very kind and professional.

I booked to stay at this hotel for 2 nights. I was taken aback by the nice photos and reviews and wanted to stay at the hotel. I was aware that the booking was non-refundable, however as I booked it through Opodo, free cancellation was available. For important family reasons, we had to change the date of the booking. I contacted the hotel directly and I was told that the new dates were not available. I suggested alternative dates and I was told that the hotel is fully booked for the rest of the year. Staff at Opodo also tried to rearrange the dates but were told that no dates were available. We asked if there were any dates that the hotel could offer and again the answer was no and with no further suggestions. I looked at the small print and noted that the free cancellation was in fact back dated which meant that I was never going to be able to make use of it in any case. This is deceptive and unacceptable. The fact that the hotel was not helpful was really disappointing as we really wanted to stay at the hotel and we had already paid for our stay. To find that the information provided re cancellation policy was misleading is really unacceptable.

The entrance was not clean, no light at first when open the main door. No one available to welcome us. It was a bit scary. The property owner could add an automatic light at the entrance and have a sign to indicate guest where to go. Add more towels to the room. Have a more variety of breakfast. They serve the same thing every morning.

The Casa do Principe is a small but absolutely lovely B&B in the Principe Real section of Lisbon - wonderfully located with the Lisbon Botanical gardens to the north and across the street from the Praca do Principe Real (park) with vendors in good weather. A bus and trolley stop is just steps away! The room we had had a small balcony facing the Botanical Gardens. We stayed 8 nights to get to know Lisbon and the staff couldn't have been more helpful with ideas for the best dinner spots and things to do. The entry is easy to negotiate in and there is an elevator. The best part was the staff - so helpful and kind! And we found the breakfast to be more than enough with local sweets in addition to meats, cheese, eggs, breads, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and freshly squeezed orange juice. My husband and I will definitely return!
