Fantastic find - i usually go for bigger chain hotels, so wasnt sure when i booked… but its excellent! Clean and quiet and in a good area, just 250 yrds from John Lennons first student digs… easy walk into town, without the madness of the cavern quarter. Love it.

Perfectly adequate, no staff on site, but we managed ok. Superb location. If accommodation is all you’re after this is ideal. We didn’t eat on site but I’m aware there was a cafe for breakfast on site. Lovely views of the Anglican cathedral across the Georgian rooftops.

We arrived at around 8.30 pm. There was no heating in the room as the radiator was broken. Then found a small electric heater in the wardrobe so we used that to heat the room. The bathroom was absolutely freezing as there was no radiator in there. There was a small electric heater above the door but this was broken. So, after a colsld night, we went for breakfast that was advertised as being served from 8am. I went down at 8.15 to an absolutely freezing room in the basement. No lights on and certainly no signs of breakfast on offer. We then waited until 8.30 and still no sign of life. We then rang Anne who informed us that the delivery hadn't arrived so the cook had gone to the wholesalers (the wholesalers for a bacon and eggs?). So at around 8.45 the cook arrives in the freezing dining room apologising for being late as her daughter had had a baby last night and she had been up all night, which is understandable ( why the lies from ann though?) We then waited around 30 minutes for our breakfast in a room (we were supposed to meet our friends at 9.15) that was so cold I had to go upstairs and get my coat. Food was okay. We emailed Ann about the lack of breakfast and heating, she replied with no mention or explanation why none of the heating worked in the middle of winter. Place looks nice, bring some wooly pyjamas and a blanket. Do not expect much from the owner apart from taking your money. Will not be returning.

Nice location away from the noise of the city centre. Some of the sockets in the room didn’t work, and the kettle in the room needed to be cleaned n the floor for the cable to reach but that was only a minor issue. Lovely place, would definitely stay again

My wife and I chose this "hotel" specifically for its location. Big mistake. Although the automatic check in was easy the reception area was far from welcoming and it became very clear that this was more of an AirBnB than a hotel. Our room was large but a bit shabby and the rather quirky furniture had seen better days. The central light had seven arms (all with wonky lampshades) and only two of the light bulbs were working. Additionally only one of the bedside lamps wasn't working and the carpet could have done with vacuuming. Our real issue was the bathroom. The radiator wasn't working - it was switched on but there was no heat. There was no plug in the sink which made shaving quite difficult. The shower door was broken but hadn't been removed and a shower curtain had been added. There was a significant amount of black mould in the shower and behind the loo and having a shower was not a pleasant experience. Yes there were toiletries but one of the shampoo bottles was half empty, obviously left over from the previous occupant. The joke really is that this room was classed as a Deluxe room! Would never, ever, ever stay there again.

We've stayed here several times and it is always a good night. The hotel is kinda self-service. A day or two before your visit you are sent a code for the key-safe at the front door, from there you pick up your room key. When you leave, so simply put your key back in the key safe, randomise the key pad and walk away. Breakfast is available in the cafe downstairs, but it's optional. The hotel is what it says ... a Georgian town house, The rooms are grand and very well equiped. the beds are large and comfy and it's very clean

Very tired. Out of six light bulbs in ceiling light, only two were working, Both shower doors were broken and replacement curtains meant bathroom floors got wet. One of our bedrooms had a bedside socket out of order. Tap in one bathroom was loose. Curtain rail was broken so wouldn’t close fully, causing light to come into room. Toilet seat was broken and wouldn’t stay up. Extremely overpriced for the quality of accommodation.

Not a bad stay but wouldn’t call it a hotel more like a boarding house. Did not see any staff to help you if you had any questions but did see the room attendants. Plenty of free parking outside on the main road but it is at a premium and they go fast. You enter the building by using the code to open the key box. This contains your key fob. To get into your room, you are given a passcode to enter onto a key lock. We stayed in room 1, it had seen better days BUT it was clean, spacious with very high ceilings. It’s far from modern more traditional. Room 1 over looks the main road so I thought we would be disturbed by the street noise but this was not the case at all. The bathroom was spacious enough but they need to do something about the shower cubicle. It was very small but the glass door as partially broken so it was covered by a shower curtain. Shower curtains can carry a lot of bacteria and dead skin cells so I was not too keen on that. The chair in the bedroom had stains on it so I refused to even sit on it. Maybe because the ceiling was so high there were cobwebs visible and out of the 7 lights on the chandelier only 3 of them worked. Better lighting could have been in the bathroom so I could do my makeup. The bed was large and spacious, we slept very well. But if you like a really soft mattress, this is not the bed for you. But other than that the room was ok. Throughout our stay we did not see anyone like a receptionist or manager to ask about the area/ Liverpool. They have racks for brochures but it’s empty. The hotel itself is right next to the cathedral towards the top of the hill, so we walked most of the time to get down to the where the restaurants and bars are. We had breakfast in Cafe 60. The cooked breakfast made by Kelly was fabulous however she should have told us that the filter coffee was an extra £3 per person so we were shocked when she told us the total price for breakfast for the two of us was £18. The next morning we opted to have the continental breakfast that actually comes with the filtered coffee. But this did not stop up from enjoying our time at the Georgian Town Hotel and Liverpool.

We got gifted this stay at the hotel via Wowcher , when booking the lady was lovly who took our booking and said we would receive an email closer to the time to explain how to self check in. We got an email the day before I believe with instructions on how to get our fob to the front door and our bedroom door. The hotel was clean on arrival , easy enough to access , we accessed our room and it was massive! Lovly and clean not a thing wrong with it! Had a fridge in the wardrobe and tea coffee sugar , little toiletries ! Great stay , it's a bit of a walk into town but we got a taxi from Liverpool central and it only cost us £8. In the morning we checked out and made our way down to the cafe , the Wowcher deal came with continental breakfast but we upgraded to a full English at £7 ph which we was happy with , it was lovly. Would recommend :) xx
