"Overall this hotel is clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and nothing too much trouble. Just a reminder though is that you now have to pay for parking. As it is close to the airport I can see the reason why but I think it should be on website (I may have missed it if it is). It is no bother and staff do remind you, unlike some other hotels I’ve stayed in. "

"Firstly upon arrival staff friendly with a smile , did not get a name of the lady on reception ( sorry) but was welcoming and so polite towards my daughter and myself. I arrived earlier than check in , was offered luggage storage given a ticket and kept until arrived back to check in at 15:00. Had to pay a £2.40 room tax which I did not think was bad . The room was brilliant for us my only fault which couldn’t be helped was the room faced a car park which was noisy until midnight and home bargains which of course it was delivery day so early rise 05:30 for me as light sleeper. But overall can not fault the hotel . Will stay again. Easy access to Liverpool town centre 5 minute walk across road , and Liverpool central train station literally up the road."

"When we arrived, we noticed we had been given a far inferior room than we've ever had before. The view was terrible. There was no fridge which we have always had before and the room looked 'tired'...in need of TLC. I went to reception to tell them I was not happy. Anyway they did sort it. Gave us another room with a better view and the young girl on reception brought us an old, but working mini fridge.. so it worked out OK in the end ( I need a fridge to put some of my medication in.) Another lady on the desk was very curt when I said there was no fridge and stated....not all rooms automatically have a fridge in them. Sorry but I thought they did. Whoever makes loose leaf tea in the restaurant needs to learn it is 1 tsp of tea per person and 1 for the pot. In this case 3tsp of tea and not half a teapot full. I kid you not. See pic below. We got a refund for some of the tea, but nit for the cream tea my friend had. My friend had ordered a cream tea and me, just a tea. Yet they brought a pot of tea for 2, which is the wrong etiquette for an order like this. Hence we only got 2 cups out of it, because of the amount of loose tea in there. I think I have been spoiled by the superior standard of the rooms, when we have stayed before....I just presumed all their rooms would be like this"

"Great hostel, it’s clean and the rooms are well kept. The beds are amazingly comfortable with a small shelf to keep your phone and watch to charge while you sleep. The vibe is great and it’s very vintage style. Location is amazing. Easy to all public transport, so many shops to eat or get groceries from. Bars and pubs are at your fingertips. The only downside to this hostel is its in room bathroom. Unfortunately this hostel fails majorly on this. I was in an 8 bed dorm, and there was 1 toilet and 2 showers. (Luckily there was only 3 people in my room for my 2 nights) so we could manage. BUT the showers are absolutely awful it has no independent tap for hot or cold water, it has a push button for water and the push button only lasts 3 seconds (SO GUESS WHAT YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE BUTTON IN CONSTANTLY TO SHOWER) so you have one hand to shower with if you want constant water on you, BUT guess what…. The shower hot water is non existent the hot water is hot like a swimming pool on a hot summers day or luke warm at the best. So if you think you going to have a good shower after a long day of exploring or you get filthy from a night out, surprise you going to have the most awful shower. So you gotta pick awful shower for a comfy bed and clean room or stay somewhere else. If I visit Liverpool again I’d skip this hostel only for the fact that I like a nice hot shower at the end of the day to unwind with before going to bed."
Adelphi hotel
"The room I was booked in to (637) had mould in ceiling, 2 table lamps for lighting (one of which was working and the second had poor lighting) and no tv service! I contacted reception and after no resolution in 40 minutes I went to reception and was moved to a smaller double room (633) with a mattress that had obviously been worn out and needed replacing and again with no tv reception. After a night of very poor rest I again complained at reception and was promised a change to a more updated room but when I returned from my days activities I had not been changed to a better room, was informed no rooms were available and after strenuously arguing my case a room “suddenly” became available! Overall a terrible experience of poor hotel standards and customer service. In a very dated hotel, not to be recommended."

"I’ll start with the positives. Great location by the docks and near to all facilities. An easy walk into the centre and Albert Dock & museums. The bed was very comfortable, the room large abd the check in staff welcoming. However the room lighting is dire. Very dark bathroom and bedroom not much better. Hopeless if trying to apply make up or do anything that needs light. The bathroom looking a bit shabby and almost impossible to flush the toilet. Towel rail wouldn’t heat. So many options in that area that I would probably not stay there again."
