Booked a stay with iStay Liverpool direct for the Temple Court Apar**ent for a hen do in August 2023, supposed to be arriving in August 2024 however following no contact from iStay I have since learned that the company has gone into liquidation. I have contacted Happy Days Hospitality who have taken over the Temple Court building but have no reference of my booking that I have paid £1400 for. Please avoid at all costs - iStay are still taking bookings and money from customers however so please do not book to stay here!

Terrible Experience with Istay Liverpool. DO NOT PAY DAMAGE DEPOSIT VIA BANK TRANSFER SCAM YOU WILL NOT GET BACK. myself and my friend travelled for a long weekend to Liverpool 1st night we never ended up receiving an email/ code to enter the room. we were then forced to find alternative place to stay at extra cost. Then upon contacting Istay Liverpool and promising a refund for deposit and 1st nights stay they have since gone quiet despite numerous emails. I would not recommend staying there.

Avoid at all costs! Shocking customer service from this company who have now changed their name to "Group Hotels" on booking sites (air BnB). Confirmed our booking in January for an apar**ent booked directly via iStay's website for June this year, then went into "liquidation" letting another company take over their properties and not sending over any of the booking information (meaning the properties are then re-booked through other companies by other people and no longer available !!) and not letting paying customers know of any changes and not sending refunds!! WORST communication I've ever known. Still waiting for my refund and have had to go through my bank to report this to ensure no more money is taken, as the company are ignoring my phone calls, barely responding to messages and when they do decide to respond they avoid most of the questions you've asked. AVOID THIS IS A SCAM!!!

As per other guests, I had a reservation through Airbnb booked in June last year for the Taylor swift gig in Liverpool. They've cancelled my booking with no explanation, apology or alternative. As per other reviews, a bit of phoning around shows that istay no longer own this building and the whole thing is a scam. They have also changed their name on Airbnb from istay to "Group Hotels" so be very wary of any business trading under these names or any business run by Ann Chambers as it appears she is a serial scam artist. Avoid avoid avoid.

BEWARE SCAM! With less than 24 hours to go before I arrived IStay was completely unresponsive despite many phone calls, voicemails, and messages. We had no way of knowing the exact address of the apar**ent, no way of getting the keys. We paid £772 for an apar**ent for six people for a hen do and I don’t believe it even exists. We were left with no accommodation, on a Saturday on Bank Holiday weekend and six people, some of whom had traveled internationally to be there. Thank god we booked through Airbnb as we managed to get our money back, but we couldn’t find anywhere else to stay at such short notice so had to get the last train to my parents house after our night out. Not what you want to do after your hen do!

Booked this apar**ent for myself and 10 other friends for a 30th birthday party. This was booked 1 whole year prior, received a communion on the chat 3 days prior to say unforeseen circumstances the property on fenwicks street wasn’t available so they gave us 2 apar**ents. Nothing like the photos provided, the communication was diabolical constantly chasing and ringing 3-4 times a day to confirm the new booking and address. 2 hour prior to check in I rang for details where they needed a deposit. I provided them with the £300 damage deposit and was refund in 7 days. I am now 4 weeks past departure with them ignoring emails, telephones and haven’t reimburst my money. Ran by absolute con merchants!! Claims there is never any management around and same person answer the phone. I will continue to try and retrieve iur deposit back.

Where do I start! Was in regular contact with IStay prior to my visit and the company responded quickly and appeared very helpful HOWEVER on the morning of arrival, when I had a party of 9 for my husbands 60th birthday I was responsible for, I was moved from a 4 bed/4 bathroomed luxury apar**ent, of which the photos looked fabulous, to a 2 bedroomed, unequipped, filthy dirty, unsatisfactory 2 bedroomed, with only 4 seats for up to 11 people to fight over, no binds at some of the windows etc etc, due to alleged damage in the 4 bed apar**ent, . This turned out to be a completely fabricated story and we have since been advised that the 4 bed has been managed by a completely different company for months and has no damage currently whatsoever. I-Stay have left their own review, and I quote "At iStay Liverpool we strive to give you an unforgettable experience when visiting Liverpool with our top specification accommodation"......it was certainly an unforgettable experience but not in a positive way sadly! And if this is their top spec accommodation, I'd hate to see their budget accommodation! We contacted IStay on arrival to ask for various basic utensils/equipment to use, such as a plug for the sink or a bowl, a clean towel in place of the grimy stained one etc and were promised housekeeping would be sent round, however, they never came and since our visit, IStay are no longer responding to me whatsoever and have not returned my deposit some two weeks later, despite me leaving the apar**ent cleaner than when I arrived as I didn't want to be held to account for the way we found it, even though we thankfully took plenty of pictures evidencing the state of the place on arrival. I was, and still am, so upset that my husbands birthday weekend turned out this way and I'm also upset to think that anyone can live with their conscience doing this to anyone else. It was absolutely appalling and I have attached a small selection of photos to give an idea of the standards I'm referring to. Awful on every level :(

We had the same experience as many others have reported. Booked 4 bed/4 bath in Fenwick St a year ago. The morning of the booking they advised there was damage to the apt so they’d have to move us to Water St. This was a 2 bed/2 bath and very poor quality. We had no choice but to accept as was Grand National weekend so everywhere booked up. They sprung on us last minute a £300 damage deposit and we couldn’t get entry code without paying. The damage was all a lie as iStay haven’t owned the apar**ent since last summer. We haven’t received any refund or our deposit returned. They’re no longer answering emails or phone calls.

Absolute scammers - do not use them! In May 2023, we booked a 4 bed apar**ent in Liverpool for 10 people. On the morning we were setting off they emailed to say that due to unforseen damage left by the previous occupants we couldn't stop there & were forced to go to a 2 bed apar**ent they provided nearby. We had no choice but to accept as it was Grand National weekend! The alternative property (supposed to sleep up to 11 !) was an absolute dump, with no equipment or facilities to cater for any number of people let alone 10. We went to the property we had booked and actually spoke to the current managing agents who confirmed that there was no damage to the unit but also that IStay had last control of the property in July 2023 ! After that date IStay didn't cancel any of the bookings but clearly from the history of reviews have been using the same ploy with everyone. Now pursuing through Airbnb as IStay are ignoring contact, haven't offered a refund / reduction & haven't even refunded the £300 security deposit! We have video evidence to prove that we left the place cleaner than when we arrived! Avoid IStay Liverpool at all costs!
