The hotel is in an exceptional location, right in the center, the structure is well maintained and the conditions of the room were excellent, clean and with very modern furnishings. The breakfast, served in an elegant space, was rich and complete. Two notes to improve are the somewhat distracted and not always professional staff and the swimming pool which was very cold and in general the spa could be reviewed and improved. Access to the spa was through the hotel next door on the ninth floor in a modest space and by reservation only.

We stayed here for several nights in May and it was wonderful. The rooms were clean and quiet and the location was ideal, on the edge of the pedestrian area, and close to everything. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was very good, with lots of offerings. The helpful concierge arranged a tour for us with Roundabout Travel to the Lake Bled area - highly recommended.

Just returned from a long weekend in Ljubljana and so pleased we chose Grand Hotel Union. Firstly, what a location. So central and at the start of the pedestrian zone. Friendly welcome and our room on the 4th floor was large and air con worked well (not that we needed it). Bathroom was modern with powerful shower. Wi-Fi worked throughout the hotel. House keeping was good and our rate included breakfast which was buffet style and offered a good selection of both hot and cold dishes. From the Grand Hotel Union you can walk in a matter of minutes to the centre where there are so many restaurants, bars etc. English is wildly spoken and everyone is friendly. Lots of boat trips on offer which is a nice way to see the city (approx. 45 minutes) The tourist office is a short walk from the hotel where we did a walking tour. A must is Lake Bled and the castle as well as Triglav National Park. (more or less full day out). Also Postojna cave & Predjama castle (half day) should be visited. We booked through Viator and the meeting place was also a 2 minute walk from the hotel. My only comment regarding the hotel is that there was no where I could see to sit in the evening (i.e. no bar or lounge). It would have been nice after dinner to come back and relax at a bar.

We loved the Grand Union Hotel in Ljubljana, Slovakia. The place reeks of first-class elegance, with beautiful Art Nouveau decor. Service was excellent and the location could not be better in Slovenia's beautiful capital city. Strongly recommend.

We stayed for 4 nights in May 24 during our 30th anniversary. The hotel room was excellent including all amenities one could want and the stall all very helpful and knowledgable. On the day of our anniversary we found a complementary cake in our room with a congratulations letter and a towel arrangement of two heart shaped swans. We loved it. Wont be the last time for sure. Highly recommended. Mr. C. Micallef.
