Me and my partner booked this hotel before really seeing the other reviews. We were so put off my the reviews that we desperately tried to change hotels, and I can honestly say I’m so glad we couldn’t! Yes the rooms are basic, and some areas of the hotel are dated, but they are clean, we had a flat screen tv, mirrors, clean bedding and towels changed daily by the maids - extra pillows when we asked for them. The guests are 90% German, and I was a bit thrown off by being stared at a lot in the first few days, but doing some research in to their culture I realised it was most likely out of curiosity than malice. I think the English are so used to everyone catering to them - that the they forget they are in a different country! Yes the staff have language barriers, but they are still so positive, helpful and friendly. The bar staff made amazing drinks, the queues went down quickly and strong measures. Food was really nice. I will sa if you don’t like fish/seafood options can be limited, but they had chicken, pasta, potatoes, french fries and nuggets and lovely deserts and ice cream. There’s a coffee machine for breakfast, they don’t have English tea so may be worth bringing some tea bags if you love a brew! Full English for breakfast, but the sausages are chorizo. The snack bar had burgers and hotdogs which were really nice. You do get flies around every now and then but this has happened almost everywhere we’ve eaten! There’s been music on every night till 11pm. Lots of English groups came and we all got to know each other which was lovely! The pool is amazing, so big, and lots of shallow deep areas for all ages. Lifeguards round the pool. There’s not a lot of entertainment I will say, during our stay there was an older lady doing karaoke, with a mix of English and Spanish songs. Another night there was a banjo player but you had to pay 2euro to watch so we gave it a miss. Overall, this has been an amazing holiday. We’ve had such a lovely time, and the hotel is in the perfect location too. There’s so many things to do, the bus stop is literally round the corner so we went to a cave tour, lots of shops, we made personalised necklaces and went to ale hop. There’s beautiful tapas on the marina, and 2/3 beaches near by! Honestly, please don’t be put off by the other reviews. For the price of this hotel, it is amazing value. Yes it’s not the height of luxury, but you’re not paying height of luxury prices and the staff work really hard to give you great service! The only negative really, is that unbeknownst to us, Spanish senior citizens are given a free holiday a year, so about half way in to the holiday, hundreds and I mean hundreds of Spanish elderly people descended on to the hotel, and it was almost impossible to get your evening meal, as they were shovelling plate fulls of food and basically took over the hotel! If you’re planning a trip, just google to make sure it’s not the week you’re planning to go! Saying that they were all pleasant
