This is great recently new hotel in Kuta. The location is perfect right in the middle of the bar and restaurant stretch. The room was so comfortable with great pillows and bed. All very clean and room cleaned daily if required. There's a water refill outside the lift on each floor, there's only 3 floors. The pool is big and great for cooling off or swimming. There's a pool bar too. Also a restaurant for your breakfast but also open all day for other meals. The best thing though about this hotel are the staff. I've never been more looked after in a hotel. A massive thank you to Henny, Hendri and Fisky. They looked after us from Henny ordering our omlettes on a morning the way we liked them, all of them bringing my bintang and playing my choice of music. They were friendly, always wanted a chat and to make sure you had everything you needed. Also Moesli would come out of the kitchen to make sure everting was OK,lovely man. The reception staff were lovely too, only name I remember was Baby. 5 stars to the staff of this hotel. Don't miss out.

This hotel is beautiful.!! The rooms could be cleaned better but we had a great stay. The pool is nice and the rooms are spacious and private. We would return. The hotel isn’t in Kuta so be prepared to hire a motorbike if you want to leave for the day. There is also a kettle in the room and free water. As someone who is Gluten free there was food available but the staff couldn’t understand the concept.

This hotel is the best in Lombok. If you are looking for a nice place to stay by the beach, pls just book this hotel. I was served by Eric and he even remembered my name! I was there on Christmas day and there are so many guests. His act definitely made me remember this place positively. Will recommend to friends.

I very much warn AGAINST booking at this hotel and want to share my experience with Selong Selo on here to spare others the nightmare we experienced: This hotel essentially took our money and made it impossible to get a refund or rebooking. We had booked a stay at Selong Selo for 2020 - unfortunately Indonesia stopped tourism entries due to Covid and we were stuck discussing back and forth with the hotel, about what to do with our reservation. The first thing we realized was that communication with this hotel is extremely slow and difficult, since very single time someone new responded in what I would deem pretty bad English. Since 2020 we have sent countless emails (many left unanswered) and two years later are yet to get a refund or rebooking for our prepaid reservation of 1.500€. In this time Selong Selo staff has given us the hardest time I have ever experienced with any hotel during Covid: They set absurd deadlines for rebookings (essentially asking us to travel when there were no flights to Indonesia), downgraded the villa category we booked and then took days off our booking in case we rebooked. To be honest we don’t really see how we will get our money back and all this feels like a scam through and through. My verdict is this: Should something go wrong, you are stuck with this hotel and will lose your money. There are plenty of professional hotels in Lombok, so steer clear of Selong Selo!

We went to Lombok with my wife and we stayed at Seven Havens Residence. The staff were very friendly. The Manager Mr Wawan was very helpful and kind too. The Heavenly Haven room was huge, clean and beautiful and we got an incredible view from it. The breakfast was so tasty and many choices. We really enjoyed our stay at Seven Havens Residence, on of the best place to stay in Lombok 😎 Can’t hardly wait to come back!

We came here with a group and stayed a week. Would have left earlier if we were traveling alone and had not paid in advance. Arrived late the first night in a group of 9 and it was obvious we were not expected until the next day. My partner and I were given a room which had a bed and a chair only, no other furniture, nowhere to put clothes or lay out personal items. The shower was cold (despite supposedly having hot and cold water), the towel rail came out of the wall when I tried to put my towel on it and the toilet rocked from side to side when I sat on it. Also did not flush properly. Dirty bathroom. Next day asked for another room and were moved to a VIP room. Bigger room with TV, a long wall table, a chair and mosquito net over the bed, but still nowhere to put clothes. I managed to get one hot shower (in the filthy shower stall) for the rest of the stay. The smelly bathroom flooded each time because of blocked drains taking about an hour to finally clear. If you needed to use the toilet in this time, your feet were in the water and clothing got wet. None of the glass doors to the rooms had been cleaned for some time with grubby hand prints and smudges noticeable. For breakfast there was a choice the first day of omelet, pancake or poached eggs. I ordered the poached eggs which came with 2 slices of plain bread, no butter or jam and no salt for the 2 poached eggs. When I requested these from the young lady serving us, the long face and scowl. This was to be the start of my day for the rest of the stay. When I spoke to the owner/manager about getting a toaster with the analagy of eating plain untoasted bread was like eating uncooked rice, he produced a sandwich toaster which at least did the job. After the first day, the rest of the group arrived and we made a total of 15,so breakfast was changed to a ”buffet” which consisted of 3 choices - pancake, omelet (or scrambled eggs) or fried rice. These were placed in square metal bain Marie pans with lids but with no means to keep them warm. If you came later for breakfast, the food was cold. On the plus side, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The pool was clean but could do with a few outdoor tables and chairs as the bean bags are not the easiest thing to get out of if you are on the senior side or have bad knees. Only 3 rooms had outdoor seating which meant staying in the room otherwise.

By now you’ve probably looked at reviews and all the stunning online photos—as we did. And you’re probably imagining a lush, beautiful, active lifestyle boutique resort with healthy Ayurvedic food, surf beaches lapping the shore and a yoga studio. This image couldn’t be more wrong. Picture instead a bus stop from the 1960’s on the side of a disused road. This is the feel of the entry restaurant that sits atop a largely arid hillside with none of the lovely plants pictured on the site. There were a couple of palm trees over dying grass, concrete and sand. The photos are so far from the reality that we thought the place was abandoned long ago—and perhaps taken over by squatters who thought they could make a fast buck. We were honestly frightened by what might happen next. While it does indeed seem to be a hotel, the photos and descriptions are so far from reality that we walked around in a stupor trying to sort out the cognitive dissonance. Could it be that the resort that constantly touts itself as a yoga surf resort might have neither yoga nor surf? Not even a real beach? No….couldn’t be. Right? The owner kept asking us what we expected to find and the truth was that the photos were so far from reality that it was hard to even know where to begin. We said we expected a private beach-so he pointed to a fabricated sandy area roughly the side of two kids sandboxes with a metal fence around it. We expected five surf beaches—instead there isn’t any sandy beach at all and the surf spots are accessed by boat for a few. We expected yoga—he assured us there is yoga (though it’s hard to see where he could be hiding it) and other reviewers say the yoga consists of a mat and a spot to practice on your own. We expected plants and trees and a hang out area by the pool. Instead the large pool was empty and the little ones were so full of algae that I wondered whether the “EcoResort” was gathering carbon credits off the green pool growth. It’s a very good thing that we didn’t pay in advance, since we were able to pay only a day’s rate and leave quickly. But the place is so remote that we literally lost five hours of vacation getting there, touring it and getting back to where we started. Not to mention enough money that we could have stayed at a luxury hotel on the island for the amount we tossed away in a rush to leave. The owner was kind enough to offer us tea and let us use his wifi to find another hotel—a kindness we very much appreciated—but our anger grew when we finally settled at a lovely hotel and compared our photos with the ones online. What an utter misrepresentation. We’re uploading the photos here—the one with sand under the shadow of a palm tree and a metal fence—THAT is the beach. We both nearly died laughing when he pointed it out, but the owner was clearly upset and we were just trying to get out without a massive conflict. We were 4 nights in the Tropic Resort in the Villa Susan with outdoor pool and outdoor whirlpool and we were absolutely enthusiastic. Location: The Resort is 2 minutes drive from the dreamy beach Selong Belanak. There is a free shuttle service to the beach. The resort is perfectly suited for resters. There are a few very good restaurants in the surroundings of other hotels, where the restaurant of the villa is also excellent. Whoever wants to have more trouble one day can drive about 30 minutes to Kuta. There you can also find bigger supermarkets and an active nightlife. To the villa: The villa is luxurious furnished and offers an outdoor pool and heated outdoor whirlpool a free bathtub a rain shower. The villa is absolutely new and in a top condition. The pool area is not visible from the outside and you enjoy 100% privacy. You have as many useful extras as an outdoor grill, a cozy gas fire, speaker that can be connected to your phone, ice cuff donor, side by side refrigerator, etc. To service: The service was the absolute highlight at our stay. We felt so welcome and well-released. Each individual staff was constantly trying to satisfy us. There is a WhatsApp group where you can order e.g. food or report concerns. The reaction time was less than 5 minutes. We have been traveling in Indonesia for 3 weeks and had several accommodation but here the service was simply the best !
