Lovely room as always with free beers and soft drinks in the fridge. The hotel area of the pub (stairs and carpet) are in dire need of a refurb but overall it’s a great place to stay with a good breakfast. My work here in London is coming to an end and I’ll really miss this place 😢

Stayed at room 8 which is eye level to the train track. Had a good first night sleep amazingly with the background noise. The little fan inside the room helped cool the air down, as the room got a little stuffy even with windows open and heating off.
Unfortunately the fire alarm on second night (false alarm) shocked us, and we couldn't sleep after that.
Breakfast was brilliant and serving staff really friendly and efficient. Lots of choice and pleasing portions. Almost worthwhile to stay there for the breakfast.

A nice big pub, but hidden charges on the menu for service - very small print at the bottom of the menu - 12.5% is a lot when they don’t really do anything. Be careful when ordering food and drinks - think they also pick the priciest option for wine too without really asking you.

The location , directly across the road from Waterloo Station, is ideal for both that and the South Bank with all that holds. The hotel is above, and part of, a pub where the reception is at the end of the bar, its a proper English pub (rather than like a hotel bar) where you get a generous discount as a resident. This can obviously get busy of an evening. Heading up to my room was an adventure with very steep stairs and a very heavy case. I was in room 5, a single room, which was lovely, the only drawback to it being that it was a few feet away from the railway tracks that lead over to Charring Cross so if you’re a light sleeper this may not be for you. It didn’t bother me having said that. Breakfast was included in the price for my room and I have to say it was excellent and all the staff were really friendly.

The Wellington has a very peaceful setting. The rooms are of a good size (for central London) but not as bright as they could have been. The bathrooms are excellent, well fitted and brightly lit. The staff is very friendly and responsive to the guests' needs. In aprticular, Akhila went out of her way to look after us during breakfast - full marks for efficiency and service with a smile!

We booked here as it is close (opposite) Waterloo so easy to get to the Jubilee Line and O2 for our Take That concert! A busy pub downstairs, great a**osphere and they were serving Sunday Roasts. ( We popped up to a genuine family Italian restaurant just a few doors away for a cocktail and pizza). We were warmly greeted by the bar staff and shown our rooms. Rooms were next to each other and felt nice and private. They were clean and comfortable. Surprisingly quiet nights sleep considering the location. Lovely breakfast this morning and we met several more of the friendly staff. Great value for money. Thanks Mark and team! 🙂
