Great welcome, able to check in early after long train journey, also got a treat dessert brought to the room for a birthday which was a lovely welcome touch. Staff couldnt be more friendly or helpful. Great location in Shoreditch, short walk to Old Street tube on Northern Line. Across road from Bike Shed which was amazing for breakfast. Spacious room with 2 windows including in bathroom which was a real novelty in a hotel as we much prefer fresh air than A/C but both options available.

I stay here quite regular with work however this will be the last time. Stayed last week and all power in room went off, waited 30 minutes and they couldn’t fix it, rather than move they told me to shower in another room and then had to walk along corridor in towel to go back to my room to get dressed. Also if you ask for an iron (they don’t have them in the room) expect along wait. I waited two hours! This is nowhere near 5 stars, lucky if it’s 3. See all the other reviews. Breakfast usually lukewarm and poor quality Phones in rooms don’t work if you use handsets. Always have to use speaker as batteries are flat in phones. This really isn’t 5 star as they claim

The property has a cool history. I liked the pictures of justices and the stairwell. However the hotel is not a 5* or anywhere close to that. Rooms were dusty and not properly vacuumed. Mattress and linen quality was mediocre. Heat was high and when I asked that it be turned down (after I realized it wasn’t working from the room), it took staff 2 days to get to it… making it impossible to sleep the first night. Staff were unable to call a taxi for me- they were too busy with an event. The front entrance is not accessible and the door that is is not obvious or signed.

Room was amazing, I was upgraded for free. Food wasn’t too bad but I was the only in the restaurant. Bar man was just watching TikTok’s loudly. The parking is ok but you have to be let in on a busy street and ring them to wait 15 mins. Then you go into a car lift into the underground parking. It’s just not very convenient for coming and going. If it was free or cheaper I wouldn’t complain but at £35 a night it limited my time coming in and out. And also you get escorted up and down l, nightmare/awkward.
