The Villa Kensington

Quiet, clean, super service, friendly staff. Highly recommended. The reception and housekeeping staff were very attentive and professional, rooms cleaned daily, nothing was too much trouble. The road is quiet so though you are in central London it is nice and quiet at night. Convenient for Gloucester Road tube too!

Terrible place to stay. Extremelly dirty. Rude personal. The hotel needs urgent renovations.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very small and clean. I would advise against anyone staying in this room if you weigh more than 150-160 pounds. It is so small that it is hard to get around the bed and bathroom. The bathroom is horrible with so much mold on the walls and tiles. Not clean at all. They have no wash cloths or hand towels available. I would find another hotel in the same area. It was very easy to get around because the Tube access is excellent. We would never stay in The Villa Kensington again.

The room was very clean (small, but fine for the price). Bathroom was spotless, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. All the staff I met were very courteous and helpful.I would stay here again.

Its the worst experience I had in a hotel. Extremely dirty. ( The room the sheets and bathroom). The walls half repaired in Our room. The heather made a terrible noise. Smelly. The elevator inside in poor condition. Staff not helpful (They were watching movies and got angry if you requested anything). Our room was not cleaned. Installations very deteriorated. Unfortunately couldnt get a refund and not willing to provide another room

This was our second visit to The Villa travelling with family before Christmas.I have mobility issues and was therefore able to book a downstairs room although The Villa also has a lift. The heating in the room was excellent and the shower in the bathroom had super hot water at all times. There is no fridge in the room or full size mirror,however there is a kettle and coffee and tea available in the lobby. Reception staff were mostly friendly and helpful offering to assist with taxis,directions etc.A very basic continental breakfast is available in the basement which can be accessed by a lift if needed. The location of this establishment is wonderful as not only is it round the corner from Gloucester Rd tube station it s also within walking distance of the V and A museum,Kensington palace and the Royal Albert Hall or a short taxi ride for around €10. Two supermarkets and plenty of restaurants are situated nearby . .Thai taste in Cromwell Road, a 5 minute walk away is a small ground floor restaurant with a great menu at reasonable prices is highly recommended.

The Villa Kensington was a great find. The location is very good. It was easy with public transportation to get anywhere. If you are a walker there are many places you can walk to as well. There are many food options close by as well. From sit down, grab and go, or groceries. The front desk staff was very good. Everyone I encountered was very nice and friendly, always willing to chat and offer advice. I had a little problem when the rail workers went on strike and I had to get back to Gatwick. The staff was helpful getting me an arranged taxi and carried my luggage out for me at 3:30 a.m. The area was safe and hotel felt secure. There is a lot of foot traffic with the proximity to the tube station. My only criticism would be on the bathroom condition. The shower grout needed something, either cleaning or repair. Overall this hotel is a great value overall. I will definitely be back again.
