The MAD Hatter Hotel

It was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so lovely and so helpful. Could talk to them like they were friends, made us feel so welcome!

Had two great nights in the Mad Hatter when we had booked to go to an evening show at the O2 . The hotel is very well situated near Blackfriars bridge within easy walking distance of many of London's landmarks. An exceptionally good bus route is just around the corner and tube station just up the road. The Alice in Wonderland theme was evident around the hotel and in the restaurant/bar area. Don't know if it was because of the theme or just the fact that the staff were all so bubbly, cheerful, friendly and helpful. The story of the hotel was written on boards on the walls together with lots of photos as it was originally a hat making factory. Very interesting. Lovely clean bedroom with comfy bed and a nice hot shower. The room was lovely and warm. Staff on reception were very helpful and had a good knowledge of the surrounding area. There were shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance but not a late night area. A delicious breakfast was served with a smile in the bar area but it was set back from the main part of the pub. We also ate at night in the bar area and the food was excellent. 10% discount on food and drinks for people staying at the hotel. The bar does close at 2300 which surprised us for London, but I think it was in consideration of bar staff who would have to get home. I would definitely recommend the Mad Hatter and hope to go back there in the not too distant future!

Lovely pub , mostly excellent friendly staff our experience sadly spoilt by the surly female ‘ supervisor ‘ been going regularly for many years , probably time to choose another venue. Food good but becoming more expensive. Fish pie had more boiled egg than fish .

Really nice Central London hotel at great price

Great location for an evening with friends. Hotel was quirky, bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable, lots of hot water. Downside, although mainly clean, it looked like the cleaner hadn’t finished as the toilet and sink both needed attention. In the restaurant, food and drink options were good, food was tasty and hot. Service was great, but couldn’t get a coffee after 9:30pm. Guessing this was because the kitchen had closed? Check in and out was simple, and we were able to leave our bags behind the counter to go exploring once we had checked out, a real bonus. Overall a great stay, would return.

Really lovely hotel, room was clean and comfortable and located in walking distance to Covent Garden. We had breakfast which was really nice. I would definitely stay again

Pie + mash + liquor + chili vinegar at Goddard's in Greenwich is delicious! Thank you (and Kev) for the recommendation and for helping me complete my portfolio of iconic British foods that I've tried. Sorry we couldn't come back and tell you in person.

Excellent location. Clean and affordable. Decor outdated.

Staff was wonderful and very pleasant enjoyed my stay very much and walking distance was great
