Do not book this hotel… we made reservations directly with them a year ago for this July.. even called them 3 weeks ago to make sure all was good with our reservation, which they confirmed was good to go…and today, for no reason, they canceled our reservation..although they are still showing rooms available…. We saw in the past few years they have done this to others.. we had faith we would be good to go…but no. I fully believe it is because we had a lower room rate then what they are now charging so they cancelled us.

I have stayed multiple times at the Westpoint Hotel in the past. When it was possible to travel again I booked a four day stay with my parents. As the hotel was closed we chose the adjoining Aspen Suites. This was perfect and the staff was as helpful as ever, but the fact that the rest of the building was now let out to refugees with their "office" in the hall and a security guy made us feel a bit uneasy. Hopefully it will go back to become a normal hotel again in this perfect location.

If I could give zero stars I would. My trip was actually supposed to be August 2020, as the first lockdown lifted. I was told that my booking had been cancelled due to renovations, (if you are looking at these reviews you will see a recurring pattern.) I went in circles for months being told a different story every time about why I hadn’t received my refund. It became incredibly frustrating, and upsetting. In the end I told them that I would get my money back using the chargeback scheme. The lady gloated that I couldn’t do that, and proceeded to tell me why. I simply told her that if my money wasn’t back in my account that day, I would have no choice but have to contact my bank. She seemed worried and tried to convince me not to. I did indeed contact my bank and I got my money back. The hotel have no intention of honouring a service and they definitely have no intention of giving refunds. Originally, I had been to angry and couldn’t put my anger into words, but seeing all of these reviews, I recognise how important it is that we paint a picture of the experience we receive.

In October 2021 we booked one night at this hotel in August 2022 I.e ten months in advance. The rate was reasonable considering the basic standard of this hotel. Three weeks before we were due to arrive, they cancelled our booking with no explanation. We called - no answer. We messaged - no answer. Zero explanation. We had no choice but to book another hotel, at double the price - and wasted hours online trying to find that (as most were four times as much by that stage due to the late notice). This hotel is clearly happy to cancel existing bookings in an attempt to secure more money from new bookings. Completely untrustworthy and should be avoided. I wish I had booked a better hotel initially.

If we could give this hotel zero stars we would do I’m leaving a review here because I’m unable to do so on *********** I had a booking with the Westpoint hotel for the 11th of June for my sisters 50th birthday. 5 weeks before the date I had an email saying that they were cancelling the booking because they were closing the hotel for renovations. I contacted them to say why would they do this so late in the day and all I got was sorry they were cancelling all rooms because they were renovating the hotel but would refund all monies paid. I then had to find other accommodation which cost me £200 more. After we returned from London I was checking on Westpoint hotel reviews and noticed that they hadn’t closed at all and there were other reviews on there saying that they had cancelled other peoples guest rooms only to try and get people to pay more money!!! Absolutely disgusting and scrupulous hotel - do not do not book to stay here. We are seeking compensation!!

Absolutely appaling behaviour. Cancelled by sending me an automated refund email. When I queried it they claimed that they tried to get hold of me and our rooms required urgent maintanence. Well, they clearly hadn't tried to get hold of me because my email was working just fine. Avoid like the plague!

I booked this hotel months ago, however I first received a request to cancel, then I declined, two weeks later my booking is cancelled. Now prices are sky high. I called the hotel on their phone number and they have availability for my original dates at a higher price.

Hotel cancelled with short notice. Reading other comments, it’s no coincidence all cancellations were people who had booked well in advance receiving competitive rates. Communication poor and all questions ignored. Would never risk again and would advise others to not book either as too unpredictable.

We booked to stay at this hotel months in advance of our trip. The hotel then cancelled at short notice leaving us stuck without affordable other options for accommodation. This is terrible customer service and an appalling way to treat guests. I would advise others to note this before risking a booking at this establishment
