Wonderful gem. They have a mildew issue on one end of the hotel. They switched my room promptly. And the service was excellent. Beautiful appointment in the room. They do add 15 pounds service charge daily to your bill (optional). A bit weird to not tell people upfront. Because the staff was nice and space very pleasant I paid it. Better to build it in to the price? Or tell one upfront. Would highly recommend and visit again.

If you like a more retro and traditional taste, you can try it
It’s very warm, and some cookies and desserts are given out every day.

Our family had a wonderful experience at The MONTAGUE on The Gardens! A quote from my father in law, “when in London I will only stay at The MONTAGUE!” Lavante the concierge during the bulk of our stay was amazing! He was super helpful to my mobility compromised father in law, he predicted our needs and was a calming influence for a worried older gentleman. Every city we plan travel to, we will look for a Red Carnation Inn.

Without exception every member of staff are professional polite cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. They are definitely the biggest asset to the hotel. Everywhere spotlessly clean, food excellent, rooms beautifully decorated and location very convenient.

An absolutely delightful place to stay in Bloomsbury. The location is fantastic, and the staff is wonderful. The concierge was great at making suggestions and helping us navigate the innumerable temptations of London. The public spaces are lovely, and the view out back into the private garden is gorgeous. We would stay there again in a heartbeat, not only because it is mere steps from the British Museum.

This hotel never disappoints. Great location near Russell Square with Oxford St 10 minutes walk away. The rooms are like staying in a guest bedroom and not a typical hotel room. However the greatest asset of this hotel is the staff. Everyone is excellent, so friendly and helpful, with nothing too much trouble. We are looking forward to our next stay.

The Montague was absolutely wonderful in every way. It was beautiful, clean and charming. The staff and the attention to detail exceeded expectations. Will definitely there in my next trip to London.
