We had 2 rooms booked and were in London for a friend’s family wedding . Upon arrival we were offered a welcome drink, to which we requested 2 gin and tonics but were informed that welcome drinks only included water, tea or coffee…. anything alcoholic would incur a charge ( not much of a welcome) We went into the bar, where our friends were and we waited and waited and eventually we were given two of the weakest gin and tonic’s I have had in a very long time. However, we were here for a beautiful occasion and we were in great company. The service in the bar was so slow and quite frankly not good enough, there were very few people in the bar, apart from our group, so could understand no reason for this. We had breakfast included for both our rooms but there was a big problem Saturday morning, my daughter had to leave because of a hair appointment she had, and we were waiting for beyond an hour and three quarters, having to constantly ask where our food was. It was eventually put on our table and I have to say it was absolutely awful. The sausages were shrivelled along with the mushrooms and bacon,looking like it had been reheated more than once with a small dish of burnt baked beans, I’m talking black !!! This was the final insult and we told the waitress that we would not be eating it, it was an absolute disgrace. We complained on more than one occasion and at no time were we given any information voluntarily. We were told there was a problem in the kitchen, however breakfast orders were still be taken with no explanation which I consider to be very poor. We eventually left the hotel and had breakfast down the road. Our rooms were very clean although our wooden floors were so slippery, dangerously so, and this should be addressed before an accident occurs. We decided not to take breakfast in the hotel the following morning either and requested that both days be taken from our final bill. A nice gesture would’ve been to cancel our bar bill but this wasn’t offered upon our leaving and it wasn’t until we got home did we realise that we’d still had breakfast charged to both rooms for Sunday, having requested that both days for both rooms be removed. Our invoice was emailed to us so nothing to see immediately and to check against. Needless to say we won’t be visiting again or recommending this hotel, which is a shame because it’s in a great location. If, when reading this review, you’d like to refund us our breakfast fees for Sunday, on both rooms, and maybe even the bar bill, our room number was 402 and I’d be happy to talk to you about it. You did try to call us Saturday morning to apologise for the breakfast debacle but we were getting ready for the wedding and having already wasted more than enough time trying to get some food, weren’t able to do so and were told you would speak to us before our departure Sunday, not sure that we did though ….
