Hotels in Longji Terraced Field-Ping'An Zhuang Village, Longsheng

Mama and I had such a great experience here on our 3-day (2-night) trip to the 龙脊 rice terraces. Cannot recommend these guys enough! They were so friendly from the start and service was AMAZING.  We got quite lucky with our room. We were able to catch the sunrise every morning coming over the “back of the dragon”. Location was great too, being not too far from the 九龙五虎 and 七星半月 observation decks. Aside from the view, the place was clean with the usual amenities. Their home-cooked Guilin specialty meals also made for great dinner. Almost everything was home grown and locally sourced, and oh so tasty!  They were also great with our check-out and send-off, helping us organise a car/driver to our next stop (Yangshou) and a little farewell token that read “ 一生平安” which translates to “a lifetime of peace and safety”. We even picked up some of their monk fruit (羅漢果) and passion fruit (百香果) before we left! Thank you for making us feel so welcome 西窗月! Highly recommend booking with them! ☺️👌🏼

Beautiful wooden mountain cabin with a breathtaking view from the window. The host was incredibly helpful – he even arranged our transfer to the next town. A wonderful family-run place with a gorgeous cat (his photos are what made me book in this place). The best stay we've had in a very long time. Highly recommended

This is hands down the best homestay I've ever experienced! The hosts (the owner and his wife) are incredibly kind and welcoming. My suitcase had become exceptionally heavy after several days of travel and shopping. Without a moment's hesitation, even in the pouring rain, the owner single-handedly carried it up multiple flights of stairs. I was deeply touched by his incredible effort; it was genuinely hard work. Dinner was a heartwarming experience, shared with their entire family, and their children were absolutely adorable. The hosts are genuine, hardworking individuals from an ethnic minority group, dedicated to running their homestay with integrity and care. No matter what needs or concerns arose during my stay, the hosts enthusiastically went above and beyond to assist, genuinely caring for every guest. This is something I experienced firsthand. Finding such a wonderful place and meeting such kind-hearted people is truly a lucky and heartwarming part of any journey. This review reflects my honest opinion; if you're reading it, you can book this place without a second thought. The scenery, needless to say, is absolutely stunning, and the location is equally superb. So, when comparing similar value for money, I chose an environment that offered more warmth and positive energy. Encountering such fortunate and heartwarming people and experiences during a tiring journey truly re-energizes us, empowering us to face life with renewed strength and diligence. I believe this is precisely the meaning of why we embark on journeys! I am just an ordinary traveler, and I wrote this review purely out of gratitude for the profound kindness and genuine sincerity I encountered. I generally rarely write reviews. I've even specially included a photo with the host family, hoping everyone will support their business. There haven't been many tourists lately, but my experience was absolutely phenomenal.

The Li'an Villa that friends helped to book is particularly amazing. The villa is pure wood structure, with elegant decorations, combined with rattan, relief, and wood. The landscape view environment is very good 👍, especially a happy trip. The little Mr. Zhao who received us was warm and considerate and patient, and took us to various attractions, and there were surprises every day. We bought beautiful and unnamed fruit under the mountain. Xiao Zhao helped us wash and cut the plates, told us how to eat, let us have the feeling of family and home, the hotel is quiet and warm and comfortable, the breakfast is very rich, and there is coffee ☕️, for this we stayed for another two days. Daughter said: I am in a good mood here, and I can read in peace. Thank you very much, Mr. Xiao Zhao, thank you for your thoughtfulness and beautiful sweet-scented tea. We will come again and will recommend friends to come.

The location is great, just a seven or eight-minute walk from the Ping'anzhai observation deck. The scenery is absolutely stunning, surrounded by mountains. Opening the balcony door from your room feels like you're living in the clouds. We went during the off-season, so there weren't many people. The guesthouse has a traditional Chinese architectural style, all solid wood, and the materials used are very substantial. The only downside is that you have to park in a designated parking lot quite far from the hotel, pay a high parking fee, and then buy an electric cart ticket to get up there. You can clearly drive up yourself, which I found very confusing and inconvenient.

Our stay was really nice and we enjoyed the view, fresh air and nature. The service was also friendly and helpful. She was really patient with our translating and was so kind to book us a car to get us to our next destination. We will for sure remember her kindness. Further, we must recommend her dish: beef potatoes. It was sooo tasty and spiced like Chinese-Western cuisine. Important: Our arrival was quite a journey booking a driver to drive us from Guilin to Longji. You must know that it is far away and you can’t drive to the hotel, only to the entry of the Longji Scenic area. There you have to buy tickets for the area if you did not book it in advance. There are some discounts for specific people, just translate the sign with the prices. After paying the entry ticket, you should buy a ticket for the sightseeing bus to take you up to your hotel. It is really a long way - wouldn’t recommend walking uphill to the hotel. The bus ticket also includes a return from your hotel back to the entry. Overall, recommending visiting the area and staying at the hotel.

Everything was amazing. We opted to upgrade our room when we got there for a higher floor. The view was really nice (when there was no fog). The man who ran the hotel also spoke good English meaning he could explain routes to us. Hotel was also located close to the gate meant convenient access to the transportation in and out of the park. Rooms were also very spacious and the hotel provided for everything that was needed. Only drawback I would say is the lack of an elevator. Meaning if you’re on the fourth floor like we were, it was a hike up and down everyday.

The owners were very welcoming, and the guesthouse was very nice and clean. The food was especially delicious; after traveling for so many days, it was the best I'd had such a wonderful local chicken soup. We caught a lot of paddy field fish, and the owner helped us clean and fry them – they were delicious! He even packed up the leftovers and put them in the refrigerator so we could take them home the next day. The complimentary rice wine was also very good; the owner said it was homemade by his mother. It was really great! If I have the chance and time, I'd definitely stay here for a few more days.

Vegetarian food! The best I have had in China so far cooked by the wonderful lady at this hotel. The hotel is also perfect. The room was very big with a huge very comfortable bed and the bright green of the terraces through the big picture window and from the balcony, we're just extraordinary; a tonic for the soul. Breakfast was perfect. The couple who run the hotel were extremely kind and friendly and their daughter extremely helpful over Wechat. The first view point of the terraces overlooks the hotel and the hike around the terraces just great. I recommend this hotel 100%.

The owners, both the husband and wife, are incredibly kind. I originally booked a small room, but the landlady proactively upgraded me to a bigger room for free, saying she wanted us to be more comfortable. 👍 They invited us to warm up by the fire and even washed fruit for us to share with their child. We also had dinner at their place, and it was super delicious; the owner even gave us some rice wine. The next morning, when we were heading out, the owner gave us some sweet potatoes and taro from their own farm, which were incredibly sweet. Overall, everything was wonderful, and it truly felt like coming home. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Longji.
