Elan Hotel

We needed to be at CS by 5:45am. Most hotels in this area are very plush expensive hotels. This was not a vacation but a necessity. We decided to stay at Elan for what seemed a very reasonable rate. Recvd a total of 10 emails for reservation, thought I paid for parking but and thing you add to your reservation is a REQUEST. We learned upon arrival at 8pm that they were full and parking is only a request not a guarantee- street parking. Took a few minutes but luckily found a soot. First impression very dingy and old. First room, deadbolt did not work. Employee said they had no more rooms tgeb found a room. another employee came to try the deadbolt- guess what? It didnt work. Second room, very stuffy- no window old AC unit. We needed to get some sleep! Very loud street noise/ fortunately my phone has white noise option. When we woke up I stood up out of bed and my socks immediately became wet- noticed the wall had water damage and the tub was leaking- we did not use the shower/tub. Not a good experience but we were desperate. Night Staff was nice we do not blame them for the poor condition of the facility and lack of services. When we left at 5:30am I rang the front desk bell to turn in the key and notify them of the leak- she didnt even come to see us but sounded like she was relaxing and called out yessss in response to the bell smh!

Great customer service and close to hospital and many restaurants. Felt very comfortable and safe. Staff took the time to provide information about area and was very helpful. Comfortable beds and facility. Love the coffee machine in the lobby and the ability to work from the lobby.

The room itself is decent. However The deluxe beds are smaller than a full sized bed. So three of us staying in the room. Two of barely fit on the bed. I enjoyed the firmness of the bed. My dad and boyfriend did not. Also checking in and checking out was a process. They are short staffed. So wait time was awhile. I was charged $20 more for amenities but there was nothing there to use. Besides a coffee machine that didn’t have decaf coffee in it. Just hot water.

Oh this hotel is a God-send. They have a very reasonable rate for Cedar Sinai patients. Overnight parking is safe (garaged) and at a reasonable rate. Not a bad walk to the hospital campus if you're walking. Else, a cheap Uber ride a few blocks down the street. I found and booked this for a loved-one who needed to be at the hospital early (but I couldn't be there) the hotel was very accommodating on me paying remotely and covering the charges. Will use again. Highly highly recommend.

Elan Hotel is in a great location in Los Angeles. There are restaurants and shopping areas in a walkable distance. This is definitely more of a no-frills hotel, with just a free happy hour offered in lieu of a breakfast or other options, but when you're only in the hotel for sleep, it's a great option! Our only complaints were that the cable for the tv was inconsistent (and perhaps out hotel wide our first night?) and our key cards were deactivated the day before we checked out and had to be reactivated at the front desk. For the most part, the staff at the front desk was helpful, including one young lady who was nice enough to recommend a local coffee shop just two blocks away for the pick me up my friend and I needed!

I love this place to stay with my husband. Very clean and quiet! Always use it.

Stayed 4 nights for a conference, wouldn't do so again. No gym. Dirty carpet inside and outside room. Stayed awake listening to a person snoring next door. Bed is hard. No hair dryer was in the room. They have computers in the lobby, but no paper in printer; I was told to email the document (I put paper in and printed it). When mentioning issues at the front desk, I got a shrug. Location is OK.

The room was quiet but the hotel is on a busy street. The staff was very nice and the nightly complimentary wine was delightful. The safe underground parking on the premises was great.
