Fairfield Inn & Suites Los Angeles West Covina

I've stayed at this location multiple times for Cal Poly Pomona activities. Walking distance to many stores and fast food type restaurants. I. E. Ikea, Walmart, Target, Sprouts, Dicks, Marshalls, Ulta, In and Out, Chipotle, Hawaiian BBQ, AkiPoki etc. Not the closest hotel to Cal Poly Pomona but can easily get to/from the college. Have stayed in multiple room types (double, king, king executive) over the last year. It's a little older hotel that could use some fixes/touch ups in the bathrooms but overall comfortable and clean. Microwave and mini fridge was very useful for us. Latest visit, the shower head should be replaced. Lots of water pressure but spray wasn't adjustable. This trip was short but have spent a week in an Executive King. The sitting area (sofa/TV) is between where the bed is and the bathroom. If you get up alot during the night I suggest packing a night light for the bathroom. Also, recommend requesting a room away from freeway if freeway traffic will bother you. Noticed it more the first night and not so much after. Hotel staff always friendly and helpful. Front desk, housekeeping and dining area all very professional and welcoming. Did not get room cleaned but housekeeping did knock on the door to ask if we needed any items. Two USB-A phone charger on alarm clock next to bed. Need adapter if only Type C. Free parking is nice. Would see security guard walking/patrolling the premises in the evenings.

We stayed March 15 to 17, 2023. Amanda was amazing, asked for an early check-in, she made sure we had it then followed up to make sure we were all set. I had a health medical emergency (hit the emergency button on the phone in the room) and the staff was at our door in one minute, and Tony from the front desk then ensured paramedics got to the room, then secured the room. Staff made sure my husband knew when he arrived later that night and then they followed up to make sure I was okay. This staff, all of them, Georgia? the housekeeper all work together to make sure our stay was excellent. Food is super delish too, and the manager in the restaurant is the best, making certain everyone is all set. THIS IS OUR FAVORITE property (we each are Hilton Diamond), stay here many times, but the extra care and follow-up is so appreciated and reflective of the management. The property is beautiful and quiet, and extremely well maintained.

The room I had was a suite. I was happy with the set up of the wheelchair accessible bathroom with a tub. There was a shower chair available if needed. I had breakfast in the restaurant twice. It was alright. I would definitely stay here again. Someone made the reservation on my behalf, and, in turns out, they made the reservation for one day fewer than it was supposed to be. The Sheraton Fairplex was completely booked, so I had to move to a different hotel. None of this was the fault of the hotel. It was nice that they allowed me to stay in the room until 4:00, so that I had time to find a different hotel.

The hotel looks good! Very close to the nearby college, but still need to drive there! Sanitation needs to be improved. It is close to roads and highways, which will have a slight impact at night. The hotel has a microwave and refrigerator, and you need to cross a bridge hole to go to McDonald’s in the south

Upon our check-in we immediately noticed trash strewn about the grass areas and dozens of cigarette butts scattered about the walkways and lawn. There were plastic bottles, food scraps, wrappers and various other gross items strewn about the grass areas outside all of the rooms. In 25+ rooms there are families living at the property (on a permanent basis) that clearly do not care about the other hotel “guests”. In the evening, furniture from inside the rooms had been moved out to the walkway and lawn area. From 7:30p until well past midnight there were adults speaking very loudly and children running about screaming in the common area. On both sides of our room were adults smoking in non-smoking rooms. I expressed my displeasure on the first and second day to the front desk staff, but nothing changed. As for the room itself, the floor and the bathroom clearly hadn’t had a deep clean in a long time. We used sanitizing wipes on all the hard surfaces before settling in. In hopes of getting the room well cleaned on our first night, I left a tip for housekeeping. Imagine my surprise when the money was taken BUT the room was NOT cleaned. The only thing we got were new towels left on the bed. We had stayed at this property several times in the past, so were SHOCKED by the change. It was our favorite hotel because we travel with dogs. Prior to this stay, we were able to safely walk dogs at any time of the night or early morning. It's also near several great food choices. Previously, the rooms had been very clean and the grounds well maintained; not any more. This is such a disappointment. I will not be returning.
