It is one of the best hotel experiences we have had in over 30 years of travel. Without a doubt, the professional and charming staff helped a lot with the attention provided, and a service always above expectations. The facilities are impressive, nothing more beautiful than the central patio with the small pond and the garden, as well as the large common pool area, a 10! The breakfast has a high quality, a lot of variety on offer and they are always willing to prepare a more filling dish for you. The toast with avocado and poached egg is recommended, a great way to start the day. We found the room we were assigned to be one of the best in the hotel, with several separate spaces and a private pool. To stay here many more days. They should improve the Wi-Fi connection in that area of the hotel, given that we were barely able to connect in the room during the days we stayed. Having to work at some point, this represented a problem, which I quickly forgot with a dip in the pool. Thank you to all the staff for your extraordinary work.

Luang Prabang City Center

Luang Prabang City Center
A wonderful hotel with a private garden, transformed into the residence of the last prince of Laos, making it unforgettable! The price is very high and the service is really warm and sincere! There are many high-end hotels in Luang Prabang, such as the magnificent Avani Amman, but overall, I personally think that this should be the most cost-effective hotel in Luang Prabang, and I will definitely stay here next time
My Dream Boutique Resort

We stayed here for 3 nights in a deluxe room which was comfortable with a balcony. Wifi is a bit slow but it is what it is. For a westerner the breakfast is a bit limited, but we ate for 3 nights and had a lunch which was fine. What really let's it down are the cats in the dining area. One jumped on my lap which was really off-putting as I am allegic to them. If you are going to let cats roam in your dining area then feed them to stop them wanting the diners food. Apart from that the staff are polite and very helpful.
Chateau Orientale

My wife and I had recently spent two wonderful nights at the Chateau Orientale Resort. We’d arranged for transport from Luang Prabang Airport to the hotel, which was one stress removed from finding a taxi. It was a bumpy ride getting to the resort due to construction along the way and it being located in a rural area. Chateau Orientale turned out to be a larger property than I had expected. It occupies quite a sizable land but with only 8 rooms. We had a chalet bungalow with a balcony and looking on the Nam Khan River. The gentle flowing sound of the water, the stillness at night and in the morning are a highlight for me. The room itself is comfortable with a village living vibe. We had two dinners in the resort. The first dinner was average but the second dinner, when we’d decided to order just a fried rice and pork steak turned out to be the best decision. Fah was a great manager at the restaurant. We joined the full day Trekking Tour to the Ghost Cave, which was a solid seven hours of walking to the Ghost Valley. Overall we had a fun time at Chateau Orientale. There are some minor points which I would like to highlight: Firstly there are lots of steps and slopes to manoeuvre in this resort so do take note if you are mobility challenged. Secondly in our bungalow, the bed was positioned very tightly next to the fridge with little space. My leg got cut twice when moving to the mini fridge. My wife suggested that I should have just jumped over the bed to get to the fridge. Thirdly there is no provision to hang your clothes. There is a cardboard in the room but you would have to fold your clothes. I would prefer to hang them especially clothes that you had wore for the day. Lastly the wifi speed was slow.
Le Bel Air Resort Luang Prabang

When our driver pulled up to the hotel by a rickety bridge over the river, we were a bit nervous as the hotel looks tiny from the outside. What we thought was the hotel was actually the lobby and the hotel is actually quite large and sprawling with buildings and bungalows scattered next to the river. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool by the river with a lounge chairs, beach towels and an affordable pool bar with snacks for sale. The rooms were spacious with large balconies. The toilet was by the front door so you had to exit the WC walk around the corner to the bathroom to wash your hands - sort of a weird set up, but did help in the morning for 2 people to get ready. This was the only hotel we stayed in with dual sinks and a long vanity so excellent for 2 travelers and a big plus! The shower was a walk in so east access. The hotel also has a restaurant where breakfast (included) is served in the morning. Unfortunately it was a buffet with limited options and the food that was supposed to be hot was always cold and unappetizing. The hotel uses tiny candles to try to keep the food warm but this method does not work at all. The hotel no longer has a shuttle to town which is a negative as you need to walk across a scary rickety bridge to get to town. The hotel does not have a gym which is a requirement, in my opinion, if you want to be a 5 star resort. My only other comment to management is to find a few better English speaking employees as we had difficulty communicating with staff. Yes we know we are in Laos and should learn to speak their language but I feel when you cater to tourists you need a few people in each area to speak the universal language for business. We did enjoy our stay and can recommend this hotel to others.
